Anyone remember the orsen wells interview calling what he did with unicron just some stupid toy

    Infact here it is

Orson Welles was in declining health during production. Shortly before he died, he told his biographer, Barbara Leaming, that he had spent the day "playing a toy" in a movie about toys who "do horrible things to each other." Film historian Joseph McBride quotes Welles saying of his participation: "I play a planet. I menace somebody called Something-or-other. Then I'm destroyed."Welles' voice was apparently so weak by the time he made his recording that technicians needed to run it through a synthesizer to salvage it. The voicework for Transformers: The Movie was the last movie project he worked on, as 5 days after his final dubbing session, Welles died of a heart attack.

    Serves him right
But in all honesty this was a giant toy commercial
Still better than that michael bay rubbish though

    • Orson Welles is outspoken on anything not mature though, I belief it was The Theif of Bagdad or Sinbad he criticised for its fantasy elements.

Yeah I know he was a grumble old fuss pot from what I understand, wonder why he even did it

Anyone remember the orsen (sic) wells interview […] Serves him right

'Serves him right?' Sure, he was an irritable drunk in his twilight years, but he was also the writer/director/star of the most influential film in history. So he died after a movie he hated, do you realise how often that happens at the nadir of film careers? Just look at Marlon Brando or Raul Julia.

      • I don't know if would call street fighter the greatest last movie you could make and as for marlon I never saw "the score"

        • +2

Respected actors doing genre films late in their careers is nothing new, and Orson Welles wasn't even the biggest curmudgeon of his era. Saying a heart attack served him right is tasteless and disrespectful, especially since he practically revolutionised film-making by himself.

        • no offence meant to be taken by it, just chill, it's a personal opinion, and I wish everyone good health

Despite the Eye Candy (the CGI, Megan Fox and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley), I still prefer the old Transformers movie.

    "You got the touch!" :)

Where would you like me to touch?

      You got the powaaaaah!

This US version is very likely to be Region A only since it's from Shout! Factory (a small publisher).
The UK equivalent is what you want if you can't play Region A discs.

  • First time on bluray? That's odd as I bought it years ago…. I believe that it wasn't released in America though.

    • Seems like this has been retouched and many extras added. Previous blu ray was great. This movie is still fantastic, great 80s music

  • Classic movie loved the start with the big battle where pretty much the entire season one toy line got wiped out!

  • I wonder if this is the censored version

  • The memories :)

  • So they're re-releasing the same movie that they've released who knows how many times before. I guess whatever brings in more money.

This movie had already previously been released on blu-ray although the original blu-ray release. http://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Transformers-The-Movie-Blu-ray…

I don't like Steelbooks although for the reason the metal case can get dinged too easy during transport.

I'm not going to lie, I cried when prime died

  • So my girlfriend realised the other day I own 4 different versions of this movie, anything new on this version that I could use to persuade that I need it :P

  • Example of the work they did to touch up and sharpen the new release.
