Unauthorised transaction and no one contacting me back (ticketetek)

Around 6 in the evening last Thursday I was trying to purchase two standard general admission tickets to the macklemore and Ryan Lewis tickets in Perth wa using Ticketek. Whilst I was trying to proceed with the transaction it said the session had timed out. I didn't think they charged me and I didn't get an email confirming I had tickets. So I had to start the transaction again and the second time round was fine. I received a notification from my bank confirming Ticketek had charged me twice.I have been trying to undo this since but the staff have been rather dodgy, as the main line is always busy. And the people they claim (via email to contact me) have not yet done so. Any advice would be appreciated. Have been told to contact in three business days but still haven't heard back. It's now Tuesday and the concert is Thursday.

I trust you only received one set of tickets?

As slack as they are being, if you only received the one set, the discrepancy can be identified, therefore the fact the concert is approaching won't harm your entitlement to a refund.

I'd say post on Facebook. That generally gets a faster response.

wouldn't you just dispute the charge with the bank?

I had the same, tried to book footy tickets, bombed out, did it again and got charged twice. I only realised after the event.
Emailed support, they replied to say someone would get back to me, but never did despite numerous follow ups.
Then put in a dispute with my bank and they then miraculously called me to say they had refunded me.

    • Fair enough, based on this experience, OP's best bet would be go straight to the bank. They sound bloody useless.

If you get no response from TicketTek, tell your bank you dispute the charges. Has worked for me before (not TicketTek but erroneous charges)

    • Same. This was for Dse online, charged twice and the chat line actually said they could only find one record (the transaction that went through), bank just asked a few questions and the second charge was reversed.

  • Bank west wasn't allowing me to say it was fraudulent or an unauthorised transaction. I had to say I did want the purchase but didn't receive the goods. But I technically did as it was showing 4 tickets. But the session said it had timed out. When I logged into my ticketek it's showing as two transactions. Not sure what to do!! Freaking out, I'm a broke uni student and losing $300 is an insane amount of money to me.

    • Why aren't bankwest allowing you to say it was unauthorised. Considering you had no confirmation from the first one, I would say that no contract was agreed upon, therefore no authorisation to debit.

Have you tried the facebook page for ticketek?

Hi all, just wanted to say thank you to all who replied and gave advice. Really helped out. Eventually Tickettek has contacted me back and issued a full refund as I did not collect the tickets (I believe it was due to the advice stated here on contacting the bank to pull the money, they probably got an incentive to return it from that?). Either way, thanks a lot, and know this is resolved thanks to the aid from the community.
