    Have you checked your contract?
Sound like they gave you warning, have you asked them why?

    • +1

the whole story sounds like BS and contractidions were made in two sentences
I'd say some form of breach most likely

    • -1

I was told the going to cancel all old plans
I had unlimited calls and sms - which I use only 20 calls and 30-40 sms
But I made allowed 300 minutes for international calls - it's not violating fair go , is it ? They have limited minutes to 300 and I used that. Its like you have 10gb data and you used all

      • Pretty sure they gave you at least 1.5 months notice, and maybe 50 calls from their customer service team…

        • -3

One month notice, and NO calls,, just one email… Are you working in Vodafone? did you call all customers? may be I am missed out…

          @jason29:
No, but i got constant calls from vodafone. Calls every couple days telling me about their old plans disappearing.

      • If there's a contract, both sides must meet the conditions otherwise full compensation. Draft up a complaint because the TIO are lazy, just bumming off taxpayer dollars

  • -1

They can do what they like within the terms of the contract
there is more to this story and what you are telling us, in all honesty it sounds like you've abused the "fair usage" policy and now they've given you the Ultimatium and moved you over to another plan, legally, Yes they can do what they like if you have breached any part of the terms and conditions.

Have you spoken to them and asked clarification about why they have done this to you?

This forum isn't a vodafone support channel and in all honesty you are better off taking your complaint directly to vodafone to find out what has indeed happened

Your story doesn't make sense either, you got an email a month ago advising you plan would change, and now complain because they've biled you in line with their change of terms WTF??, Seriously?

Sorry mate, if I tried to tell my side,,, all i want to know, this has happened to others… I hope you can forgive me…

they sent me the email a month ago that they will change my plan,, yes,, and they did not send me the confirmation that they did change the plan… after i made a call for 15 minutes they sent me the confirmation email … and charged me too

      • +1

Ask them politely whether they're happy to cancel that 30min call as confirmation email came afterwards. Worth a shot.

Hi mate, thank you for the advice, finally someone in here to help, not to scream at me, (well they are the one who is suffering from Anger not me lol)

I just did call them and they waived that fee,, thank you very much

@jason29:No one screamed at you. THIS IS PEOPLE SCREAMING AT YOU

      Jumping to conclusions much? o.O

OP hasn't breached any T&Cs. Vodafone have changed their inclusions and everyone who is on prepaid and month-to-month plans is affected.

      • Thank you Jar Jar Binks,,,

Whirlpool Forums -> Mobile carriers -> Vodafone group.

  • I was on month to month,,, didn't make more than 300 minutes in a month,, intact I did not make much local calls ,,, so i was doing fair

Wait, so you're on contract or not?

If you're on month to month, you're not 'locked in' to a contract, they can change it at will. Same as you can leave when you like.

So to summarise your questions, yes they can change a plan when there's no contract in place.

  • Anyone who bought this old plan - have yours cancelled ? I was told they going to cancel all old plan and will change them to new one… and there will be no 300 minutes to any country - only selected

    • I am now on VF $100 Red plan.

      Still going so far.

I've noticed they changed their plan structures (cut the unlimited international calls, give more data) but I would accept the new plan - I barely use the international call features. I use unlimited world from Skype so I am willing to change the plan once the new iPhone gets released.

I am under contract (23 of 24 months).

They will not change the terms why you under contract
when you plan ends if you upgrade the plan will change
        or
they will contact you to change it giving you 30 days notice as is their right.

        • Well, that's true.

I've called them couple of times to change the plan to the more recent ones - including the free upgrade for unlimited international calls.

If you are under contract, you can request to match the current plans if you want to, but they would not change it without at least 30 days of notice.

I was sent this text on the 3/8:

From 05/08/16, the standard international calls from Oz to selected countries inclusion on selected Combo recharges will be changing, some countries previously available will no longer be included. This change will only affect Combo recharges made following this date . Details available from 5-Aug at vfau.co/hwmni

Edit: so you're on a month-to-month sim-only plan, you were given 30 days notice about the changes in inclusions and you chose to stay with them. Is that correct? If it is, then what is your complaint?

OP has not violated fair go policy, I have been on the same plan and have only used about 60 minutes. The plan seems to have been a legacy one which was not being offered to new customers and Vodafone has been trying to move these customers to new plans. The country I was using is no longer on the included minutes however there was a discount applied to my contract. I now have the option to either purchase the international pack for $20 to get 100 minutes or use another provider. I have however noted that there are other plans which have lower rates than the pay as you go quoted by their so called retention team. So will be checking the options with Vodafone and moving to another provider.
I did not receive the text message from them which is an issue, OP you two friends might get theirs changed soon. Mine was changed two days ago and it seems to be phased according to the billing cycle. I would be interested to know if their plans are not changed.
I guess as they can make whatever changes they like as it is a month-to month contract on postpay; it could also be plausible that they have had an influx of customers from Telstra.

    • Thanks mate,,

  • I honestly don't think Vodafone would just cancel your plan and move it to the new plan just like that. I'm still on their 'grandfathered' month to month plan, and I did get some calls from Voda a while ago trying to entice me to move into new plans. I just had to say "No I'm not interested coz I'm happy with my current plan", and that's it.

  • I am on a Red 30 plan, which is not in contract, for the last year. I haven't received any notice.

  • I can't seem to find information on the vodafone website about their plans anymore, except for the $100/month one.

Are they still updating their webpage?

  • Vodafone gone weird, I was on prepaid same with 300 international minute. While I was talking overseas my phone was disconnected and I got a message instantly saying my credit is less than $5. I was surprised and checked my account they were charging for the calls I made so I runout of my credit. Then I checked on Vodafone website which says
"These countries may change time to time, so it's important to check that your chosen country is included before making the call"
So Vodafone is saying before you make any international call pls check website.
My one just got cut and I found out they changed from 5th of August but my last recharge was on 4th on August.i put this up on Vodafone Facebook community page. If I ring them I will get my inclusions for the recharge period I know that but my concern is how did that happen and why it was not communicated to me. To me Vodafone responsibility towards customer is zero.
Yes we need to bring changes but pls communicate.

    • Agreed OP, in my case they said I had been sent a text two times; whereas I have not received any text message from them on the changes which are similar to yours; one would not expect this from such a large company - so very disappointing;

  • If you're on month to month, then yes they can. Just like how you can terminate the contract anytime you like.

  • Agreed and yes but only after the current one you using finishes. I recharged on 4th of August and they changed from 5th of August so I should still able to use my inclusions for next 28 days. Then yes it's new plan new month new inclusions.

  • To those that want international minutes to unrestricted countries this deal might help:
