Ridge Ryder by Evakool Platinum Fridge Freezer - 60 Litre
Not as good as an Engel or Waeco but for 60L at this price it's pretty cheap (it's currently cheaper than the smaller sized version of this brand).
Backed by Evakool warranty and while I can't find a review on the rebadged Evakool, the general consensus is its an OK brand.
Dunno. Just the 4wd forums users typically recommend Engel or Waeco. Or more specifically they recommend Engel over everything. People often talk about their 30 year old Engel, haven't seen another brand mentioned with that kind of life span (nothing stacks up to the reliability of an Engel). But for an Engel at similar size you're looking at an extra $1,000 on top of this price.
We have the 40L version of this fridge bought from Supercheap. My biggest regret is not spending the extra $$ on an Engel. We used this fridge 3 times in the space of 1.5 years, 4th time we used it it died, just under 2 yrs old. Compressor just kept shutting itself off before getting down to temp. Evacool did repair it after a few months and a bit of convincing, but it dosn't seem to cool as fast as it used to. They were also a hasel to deal with for warranty work. It also uses a fair bit more power than the equivalent Engel when running, which is important if you're out camping for a week on battery power.
My advice - just get the Engel!!
