Btw way it retails about $1100 and is 3200x1800, so yes it is QHD
Shame i would of got this if this was at least an i3 or i5
Cant deal with the celeron, pentium, atom and the my3 processers, its to weak for me😀😀😀😀 XD
Otherwise this is a really good deal if you dont mind a weak processer and limmiting ssd storage

  • Is this model QHD like the last deal posted?

    • Yes😀

    • ppl complaining about QHD+ being very laggy, I'd jump if it's a FHD.
      Don't want to risk it.
PS. What's wrong with laptops? either HD or QHD, FHD is the best and not many around <$1000!
Dont they listen to what ppl want???

      • Wouldnt it be possible to just change the resolution to Full HD with windows or even another software? Or would it look odd if its not the native resolution?

    128gb or 256gb?

    • +1

      sorry, it's 128G SSD.

  • +2

I just bought for my partner, and only noticed the title says 256GB SSD; details in link say 128G SSD and Storage Size: 128GB - is the 256gb an error?

    • +1

sorry, it's 128G SSD. error list to 256G

  • do you think this is ok for design stuff? Photoshop?

Photoshopping relies more so on CPU power, of which this one isn't the greatest at all. I wouldn't know to what extent this would be a hindrance, however rendering videos or something rather would be rather frustrating.

      • Thanks Unseatingcargo! :)

      • I would expect it to be around 25% slower at CPU intensive rendering than a regular Ultrabook.. for half the price. Not a bad trade-off.

If you're serious about performance, get a desktop or a proper Intel quad-core laptop.

  • Anyone that bought from the last deal have comments on the quality/condition of their unit?

I'm on the fence as I'm worried about the condition - especially the battery.

    • +1

This laptop is very, very new. It was probably manufactured either late last year (Nov-Dec) or early this year, making it no more than 6-8 months old. So no need to worry about the battery condition.

It sells for $1.1K new so it's about half the price and you get a year of wrty. Very good deal IMO.

Not my kinda thing though as Core M3 is pretty slow and I also picked up an Haswell Core i7 HP Elitebook 940m for less than $350..

      • Seems to be a few other variations on their site where the only other difference is FHD instead of QHD. $659 for the M5 and $699 for the i5.

      • mind to share where you picked up the HP Elitebook?…would like to have one.

    • the battery got 1 year warranty form Asus.

    • +3

I've just received one from this batch. It's in immaculate condition and the battery is looking fine. The machine has clearly been repackaged (so is not completely fresh). And delivery was fast (ordered Tuesday, delivered in Sydney on Thursday). Based on first impressions - highly recommended.

  • Anyone know if this is fanless?

    • +1

      yes - per the description

Work or play in total silence

      Fanless cooling for 0dB operation

ZenBook UX305 isn’t merely quiet — it’s as quiet as silent. The smart, fanless design dissipates heat with natural airflow alone, saving power, improving performance and producing absolutely no noise

      • Thanks, I do remember reading it now, was going to buy last round but it sold out.

    • M-core laptops are usually fanless, as the processors operate at a much lower temperature than normal. Makes for a nice, cool and quiet operating experience (also less power usage often means greater battery life).

The trade-off is you lose some processing power.

  • Does the ASUS from OP have USB type C? It looks like 3x USB 3.0 ports from the link, but just wanted to check.

    • No type C

  • Does anyone know if this is Australian stock that would have GST and a tax invoice?

Has anyone had experience with this store in how long it takes for postage to NSW?

    • +1

Yes, I received a tax invoice (showing the GST) with my ZenBook. I ordered mine on Tuesday last week and it was delivered in Sydney two days later, on Thursday.

      • Thanks! Can you tell its been refurbished or is it just like a new laptop?

        • As I said on Thurday

Apart from the repackaging it's in perfect condition (so like new).

  • +1

Just received mine, looks like new but there is one big thing missing, TOUCHSCREEN…

Despite the OP and CFOnline both advertising this as such, they're wrong.

Tossing up whether or not to return for a refund.

    • Thanks for posting, it could be just a mistake or a fault so check it matches the item number as it can get really confusing with all the little differences with these things! But I expect lack of touchscreen is a bit of a deal breaker, but would be more important if the laptop was flippable.

    • UPDATE: Have RMA'd the laptop and getting a replacement, as it IS meant to have touchscreen.

CFonline have been helpful so far.

      • There are some known software issues that cause the touch screen to not operate. Mine played up yesterday however there were windows updates awaiting reboot for installation, came good after reboot. Check HID devices in device manager are all good.

        • Yeah checked for updates, and forgot to check HID properties but there were no flags in device manager.

Have sent it back now anyway, will just get a replacement :)

  • hey op, just wondering if you will have any of the non touch FHD models available as refurbs?
    cheers :)
