Best Place to Buy Quality Bar Equipment

Hi there

Can anyone recommend any good places to buy good quality bar equipment to make cocktails?

Eg - Boston shakers, hawthorn strainers, muddlers etc

I know I can grab them from places like Dan Murphys (are these decent quality?) or David Jones (is their stuff overpriced?).

Would be greatful for any recommendations or experiences. I'm in Perth but maybe online is a better option?

Thanks
Tremell

Mufflers and strainers, I'd be approaching liquor companies… that's where I used to get them from… Glassware (even though you didn't ask), I'd go Ikea… After spending a day scouring hospitality supply places, we ended up going to Ikea for plates at a significant discount… As we were lining up to checkout, there was another hospitality manager behind us, with a trolley full of martini glasses… Much cheaper than "commercial" suppliers.

are you going for "quality just because it is expensive" or "looks good, works good but don't want to spend too much"

    if the later then aliexpress

    • I think quality as in it will be durable and last but not paying over the top retail prices either. I will check out aliexpress as an option, thanks

Honestly you will make cocktails for a month till excitement wears off, you wont make thousands of them so general stuff will work fine.

I prefere cocktail shaker to a Boston, as for glasses I buy ones with thick walls, if you have a decent opshop like we do you can pick cups up 10cent each.

Pick a budget Nd run with it, basic will do but if you want professional stuff try a hospitality wholesaler (not a plate/cup shop lol)

        • Yeah good advice. As you say maybe no point spending too much money on gear when it's a once every now and then thing to actually use

Lots of hospitality supply stores sell to the public, most of the stuff I've bought from these places are very durable and reasonably priced.

  • Thanks everyone, appreciate the ideas
