Free Extra 10kg Checked Baggage Cathay Pacific (All Travel Classes)

For tickets initially issued on or after 15 September 2016, checked baggage allowance will increase on all travel classes will increase by 10kg per person.

Economy: now 30kg
Premium Economy: now 35 kg
Business: now 40kg
First: now 50kg

They also said some changes to cabin baggage too but wasn't sure what is was before.

"If your flight itinerary is issued on or after 15 September 2016, your check-in baggage allowance will increase to 30 kg (66 lbs). If in doubt, check your itinerary, where your correct baggage allowance will be listed."

    IMO, title should be: "Cathay Pacific FINALLY matches checked baggage allowance with every other airline,". Seems more accurate than it being a 'freebie' ;).

    What's the point of limiting it to people who purchased their tickets after 15 September? So you get to the check in counter and the person ahead of you who bought their ticket on the 15th can have 30kg, but you who bought your ticket on the 14th will have to pay excess if you exceed you r 20kg limit? Silly.

      Yes, wonder why they do not simply use the flight date, i.e., flights from a particular date onwards can have 30kg baggage. Instead of the 'tickets issued' date. Using flight date, the counter person will not even have to check when a ticket was initially issued.
