Soda Stream Power $183.96 Delivered (Black or White) @ KG Electronic eBay

CHOICE20

Black version here http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Soda-Stream-Power-Black-Electric-…
You simply fill the carbonating bottle with tap water, place in the snap lock system, choose from 3 levels of carbonation and Power turns it into sparkling water in seconds. My wife doesnt like the screw in one we have and prefers her fizz light (I am having visions of the old Solo ad - "light on the fizz so you can slam it down fast") and I like mine about medium so should be interesting to see how this goes - Goes for $249 on the SS site http://www.sodastream.com.au/sparkling-water-makers/power-wh…

  • So does this one not require a gas bottle? also any ideas on how storng u can make it i tend to do a double press on my one at home as i like it super strong

    • The user manual says it comes with a 60L CO2 cylinder, so I guess it needs it.

      • Ah okay that's a shame not worth the upgrade for me then :)

        • +2

          Not at $183……

        • +1

i will let you know once i get it

    • I had one and returned it - broke within the first week. I also like it strong, I was having to press the maximum button about 3 times and even then it wasn't as strong as the older older basic models. Honestly wouldn't waste your money on this one.

  • Just so people are aware, this is purely for sparkling water. It doesn't take syrups.

    • +6

You add the syrups after carbonation

  • +1

There is none difference between cheaper models to the expensive models for making the sparking water, save your money and just go for the 150 bucks units.

Paid something $50-60 from the GG for the basic model when it was on eBay discount. Works like a dream and I guess carbonation taste the same.

I've been out of gas for few weeks now, can't figure out why I am too lazy/busy to go and exchange it and continue to buy discounted soda from Coles :D

  • +1

I was trying to work out why this one is more expensive than my Sodastream Source model.

Legit, the only difference is that the LED lights are powered by power plug and that you don't need to press down.

My source still has LEDs that light up when it's carbonating.

    This is crazy!

  • Soooo.no different?
    Any end product difference?

Can we get a Soda Stream rep?

  • +1

As others have mentioned, this one does nothing that the cheapest (~$70 from Kmart, Big W etc) model does.

  • When you account for the co2 and significant upfront cost, it not more cost effective to simply buy 75c soda water from the supermarket?

    • It's cheaper to buy the gas than the 75c bottles but the initial outlay for the soda stream means it will probably work out more expensive - guess it depends how long it lasts you.
Think the main bonuses are it's easier to buy 1 bottle of CO2 gas than 30 or so bottles + eliminates the waste aspect of the plastic bottles

    • Slight savings but if you really want to make huge savings you buy one of the freedom one adaptors and a co2 tank. Up front cost is high but after the first refill of tank you're already making your money back.

      • Or forget the soda stream and adapter and just get a carbonation cap and ball lock qd.

    • I got nearly 50 litres of drinks with my bottle and the exchange costs $20.

I'm in it for the convenience and believe or not I prefer the cola taste they provide over coca cola. But many times I just use average cordial or just drink soda water :)

  • +1

paid $49 for the play at target with syrup and a spare bottle

  • Soda stream is going broke

  • I bought from these guys last time and they took a week to ship.
