  • A Snapdragon model will come. They always do.

    • it will have to if they want to sell it to the indians.

apparently it will be a snapdragon 652

mediatek is china rom official only for the redminote3 with no official global rom.

have geekbuying decided on how they are going to price the phone? doubt we will see close to rrp prices for a while

      • I was hoping for something better than the 652.

GB have nothing confirmed yet on pricing. It'll be over $180 US.

    • I only recently found out that they can't sell the Mediatek phones in India due to an ongoing dispute of some sort. Therefore it is highly likely that a snapdragon version will follow before too long.

    • I'm a bit behind on this, but what is so great about a snapdragon that warrants waiting?

  • Screen's too small. Why do the note and non-note have the same screen size? So confusing.

    • +1

They don't, the note is 5½" , the "non note" is 5".

      • +1

Fair call. Proves I'm confused though!

    • Screen is too big for me, but the price point and specs are good.

      • 5" Redmi 4 might be the ticket? Rumours say 1080P-2.5D, SD625, 4000maH. Awaiting something official.

        • Yeah, I'm in no rush. I kind of look at announcements to know what phone I will be buying in a year when it is on deep discount!

        • Sd 625 is built on 14nm process, with 4100 mah that should offer incredible battery life. Should be cheaper too.

  • why can't they upgrade their cameras to be on par with the "Branded Smartphones"? Is that too costly for them? that's the only downside from these phones.
Is it better to get this or the International Edition of the Redmi Note 3 Pro which is going down in price.

    • Except their camera modules are identical to ones in the "Branded Smartphones". Xiaomi gets parts from both Samsung and Sony. Only difference is software. I reckon you'd be better off buying Redmi Note 3 for now. It would take a few months until they release Snapdragon version of the phone.

      • Know of any deals for the Note 3 Pro? Any Australian sellers? Wanted something to come pretty fast rather than wait 20-40 days

  • Waiting for review to see if the camera is better. I have the RN3 and love it. A better camera on the RN4 would be good enough for me to buy it.

  • The redmi note 4, is it 4G + 3G, or 4G + 2G like the redmi note 3 (a.k.a. 4G + nothing in 2017) ?

And I wish Xiaomi would use a separate slot for the SD card, instead of using the SIM 2 slot.

And why is it 10 grams heavier than the Redmi note 3? In most regards, the specs are rather similar between the two.

    • You can actually DIY your SD card combine with the SIM2 card. Then you can using both. But it will spend more battery.

      • That's true, but if you port SIM2 or want to upgrade the SD card, then you've got problems because they're super-glued together. Plus the DIY process doesn't always result in a working SIM2, according to feedback I've read online. So would be infinitely better to have 3 separate slots / tray holders, one each SIM1 + SIM2 + SD card, because then those problems + the hassle of the DIY all goes away.
