Daleys Nursery $100 Fathers Day Voucher with Bonus $20 Gift Voucher

90

Was checking out this online nursery store for bare root trees (which I've left it too late), but noticed they have a Fathers day voucher bonus buy $100 voucher get $20 bonus voucher. They say the main voucher isn't meant to be for you, but how will they know?

Most likely you couldn't combine into one order for $120, but if you planned to get a few things as they came into stock, you might need to do multiple orders anyhow. Of course you end up having to pay postage for each order though. They do have some postage free plants, so could be something there to get for 'free'

I've never used them before. Seems like a lot of items aren't ready yet (the one's I'm interested in anyhow). But still, might be useful for someone.

This is part of Father's Day deals for 2016.

I've bought from them before and I'm in Melbourne. Well packaged, but make sure you water them straight away as they could be a bit dry after a few days with the courier.

    • Cheers. Good tip

Bought from them a few times already. No problem whatsoever. Don't expect much growth for your plants in the 1st year. They will need to adapt to your soil. From 2nd years onwards, they grows exponentially well.

    • Yeah, the first year is a bit of a tease. You want to harvest your new goodies straight away, but if fruiting tree, you're meant to knock the buds off in the first year so it puts it's energy into root development. But hey - the best time to plant a tree was 10 years ago… the next best is today… or a month ago if you were looking at bare root trees like me. D'oh! There's still a few options like citrus or Macadamia - looks interesting (know it will be a looooong time till nuts)

What did you get? Fruiting ones or ornamentals?

      • Only fruit trees, got the star fruits, Longans, lemons and a few chilli. Longans are the hardest to grow for me. After 2.5 years it start growing taller. I almost thought they are not growing.

        • Cool. All the best with your edible food forest!

  • Seems like a lot of items aren't ready yet (the one's I'm interested in anyhow).

Well a couple of years ago I signed up to be notified when a few plants become available. I still haven't heard anything.

    • haha! oh dear! Do you reckon that was their website fault, or they never got the stock in?

I see that notify thing on some they list as "in production" and some as "seeking propagation material" - maybe they never got the material? But then, why do they still list it on their website?

      • I only got notified for 1 plant when I requested notification for a few. I guess after certain period of time, if they are still not available, the 'alert' will be deleted.
