You could also try Gumtree. There may even be a good looking fridge that's not working for free or really cheap.

buy a near new 2nd hand fridge. sell it afterwards. maybe make a small loss. if you can be bothered with buying then selling.

radio rental prices from $X is usually for a 36 month lease.

I bought a great Smeg stainless steel job on eBay for $270 :) People move and just need to get rid of them.

Go to Domayne/Fantastic/HN & get one of those cardboard ones on display…

Seriously, just sell the bloody thing vacant; real buyers aren't interested in staging bullshit, a decent property will sell itself, and you won't polish a turd with cheap furnishings.

Furniture and appliances make a difference to a lot of people. Especially unseasoned buyers.

      • No, they don't at all in the real world…only in wanky marketer land.

It's a cognitive distortion created to promote an unnecessary new niche service to dumb people.

        • typed on my iphone.

    • Completely incorrect. I suppose you're one of those people that believes decisions are made rationally despite science showing we do anything but that a lot of the time.

You are not a special case.

      • So you're saying that you're a sucker who falls for slick marketing & puffery, so you can't give others credit for sensible decision making…got it, kthxbai! ;)

    • Buyers are interested in it according to real estate professionals.
It's a freshly renovated house appealing to families it is an emotional purchase.

      • we bought our house because the lesbian couple living in it were vegetarians, both artists, had 2 young kids, and it was styled very much towards the direction of our own tastes.

I must admit that I don't know what 'styled/staged' actually means, but anyways, have you considered that the best option might be to display the home with NO FRIDGE in it? Not only would it make the kitchen look bigger (assuming that there is not a special 'recessed compartment' built-in for the fridge), but it would also allow the potential buyers to better assess for themselves where they might like a fridge to be.

    • It is pretty much where you hire furniture , an interior designer type person chooses the type of things that go in.
It is meant to achieve more money in the sale and sell your house quicker as it is a more emotional decision seeing how the bed goes etc rather than having to imagine.

      • '… seeing how the bed goes etc rather than having to imagine.'

Aaah yeppers, I had not though of that.

Believe it or not definiatly makes a difference particularly in smaller bed rooms , your first thought would be how would a bed even fit in here if it where empty. We are selling the house to appeal to families, If our intended buyer was an investor , wouldn't waste the money as for them at the end of the day it is all about that yield and growth.

Borrow from neighbours esp if it's apartment or unit. Dont forget to pay with grocery or beer.

    • Good idea , don't really know them tho.

  • Put an ad on Airtasker.

    • Good thought!

  • get a large esky, fill it with ice and beer. place a sign above it saying "free beer".
