Canon EOS 700D 18MP Digital SLR Camera (Body Only) - $619.65

Saw this while I was looking at cameras. I want to buy this, but I am a few hundred dollars short.

If you're a budding filmmaker, this is a great entry level DLSR that includes a few nice lenses.

  • Just updated my main firmware and Magic Lantern on my 700D today. It's an older model but quite capable. Doesn't match today's cameras for DR etc. But good price.

  • Why don't you wait for the 20% off and buy it from dicksmith ebay?

    • +3

Because by the time the next 20% off sale comes through, Kogansmith will up the price to something unreasonable and even with 20% off, it will be more expensive during the sale…

      • you might be right but we don't know yet! That didn't happen when I bought a Dji battery from Kogan ebay with 20% off

        • How much did the battery cost?

        • @ms: $159.20 Delivered

      • Often they put the price up by around 10% so the "actual" discount is 10%.

    • UPDATE: CSUN20 code is active but dicksmith has been removed from the participating stores. :(

  • This would be a good price for the 750D

    • Cheapest I can find on static ice for the 700D is $739 grey market. On Ebay $762.89 grey market. I have no love for JB Hi Fi after recent crap with a mobile phone but come on! This is by far the cheapest Aus stock. Which means Canon Aus will service it in and out of warranty.

The cheapest 750D on static ice is $1149. So keep dreamin'…maybe in a couple of years.

But to be honest I don't think I'm putting any more money into Canon. The 5D Mark IV is annoying people due to outdated specs. They're preventing firmware downgrades and appear to be actively trying to lock out Magic Lantern. Meanwhile competitors are adding the features provided by 3rd party firmware directly into their own main firmware. For stills I mostly shoot Nikon at the moment because the D7100 and D7200 offered the better image quality and I prefer the Nikon lens lineup. That said I love Canon's STM lenses which are in my opinion gems.

      • I have no idea about the story here but if your saying they prevent downgrades to prevent users from having access to features that is scummy :|

Vote with your wallet as they say …

      • I bought the 750dsingle kit when it came out for around 750, so i would expect 700d to be cheaper even with the added 55 to 250 lens. But this is a decent price

  • It has been a lot cheaper over 1 year ago with the cash back offer.

  • how would a nikon D5200 compete with this, good for film making as OP stated ?

    • +1

I've always heard that the canon's are better video cameras, but I dont' know if that's still true. still shots it's fairly even.

  • showing as $899 now?

    • +1

yes. sale finished midnight last night.
