    What's the catch?

    • +1

Doesn't seem to be a catch. Seems to be just buy one drink get one free and get free pizza. Not sure of the range of selected pizzas available though.

      • +2

So buy go with a mate buy one drink and get one free. Then eat all the pizza you can?

        • +2

But then your mate doesn't get a wristband.

      • +3

The catch is you might bump into other OzBargainers. Be careful.

    • +5

i work near the southbank one, the free pizzas don't come very quickly. They're set up as a restaurant, tables/chairs, so it's not a great set up for an after work beer. You don't order the pizzas, they come around with them.

  • So I can order 1 meter pizza for free with drinks.

  • Is it softdrink or only alcoholic drinks?

    • Since the Ts&Cs don't specify it should be for any drink which you buy.

  • What is the price of drinks?

  • +10

Seems too good to be true.

If not they have seriously underestimated the amount a professional tightass can consume in 3 hours!

    • +2

They'll just change the t&c as they please

    • They control the rate the pizzas come out of the kitchen….. a bit like 'all you can eat' at Pizza Hut in the nineties.

      • +1

in the nineties ? you mean like the one I went to last week in 2016?

        • In regional NSW these restaurants disappeared a long time ago. Probably because they drip fed pizza to customers that had paid for all they could eat.

        • damn I miss the all you can eat pizza. as a child I loved it ha, dessert wasn't bad too, well as a child it's all good as long as u getting food all the time. where did u go? the only Pizza Hut I've ever seen is in bendigo Vic, the rest as far as I know have closed down.
the best for a uni feed years ago was the melb city one. memories! haha

        • @eltito:

          Windsor, still great

There were only two of us there first thing last week and they brought us out four pizzas, they even asked us which ones we wanted!!

        • +1

@billyb67: Damn, you are lucky! The only ones in VIC are in the country. I just want to go for the nostalgia lol.

        • @eltito:

well its not like its right in the city, its still about 90 minutes west from the CBD to get there..

  • please tell me the pizza aren't leftovers from lunchtime hours?

    • +2

Maybe dinner from the night before

      • +7

        Damn, even more tasty.

    • +6

From the Terms & Conditions: there is no guarantee that pizza will be hot. Pizza may have been cooked up to and including 72 hours prior to the free pizza afternoon. Certain marked pizzas will be up to two weeks old. Most pizzas will be Classic Cheese. Only pizza consumed at the restaurant is eligible for the 20% discount on local GP health check services.

      • If they microwave it enough it kills the mould yes?

  • it'll most likely be meat free pizza with a cheese overload (therefore satiating the consumer more quickly), or cheap meats like ham or pepperoni. also there may be a restriction in drink purchase (ie. one of their cocktails which are always overpriced anyway).

  • Selected Pizza flavours only

  • How long is the offer valid for?

    • It says 7 days a week. Until they decide they don't want to give out free pizza I guess

  • +4

They will bring out the pizza's so slow that you get 1 pizza in the 3 hour window. and making a 175% gross margin on your beer or wine/scotch/vodka, less the cost of 1 or 2 pizza's, they will be making a large amount of gross profit with this marketing ploy. Give it a week or two until they remove the promotion though

  • +2

    Selected Pizza flavours only

    Zucchini and pineapple.

    E: Oh the irony

  • -2

Criniti's pizza's are so f***ing good that it won't matter what they serve you!

Well done OP what a deal!

  • I went to the darling Harbour one and the free pizza was garlic pizza. Essentially just a garlic naan.

    • +2

      How long were you there?

      How many pizzas?

What is the capital of Assyria?

  • Went there at 3pm (Carlton branch) - the pizzas were nothing special to write home about. One was the standard Margherita, another had ham, cheese and olives and the other had capsicum, eggplant, onion and something else or other.

In terms of service, it was really quite slow as they brought out one pizza to the bar for self service and didn't replace it for nearly half an hour (by which stage the remaining slices has gone cold) - I would have preferred if they brought out the wider variety at the beginning (which they did do eventually once the number of customers picked up).

I think it helps if you go with low expectations and see the pizza as an additional bonus to the free drinks, and be pleasantly surprised, rather than expecting mounds of amazing pizza.

    • You got a great variety! I was there for 2 hours at the Darling harbour shop. Nothing but cheese and tomato pizzas. The first pizza was cold.

6 other people were there during the afternoon. And a friend who went to woolloomooloo said no one was at the shop when she was there.

But the 2 for 1 drinks were pretty good.

    • I've been to manly today and my experience was very similar to yours.
But I was surprised with the pizzas quality, they were quite nice.
The variety was just the same of yours. I think capricciosa, margheritta and a Mediterranean vegetables. I went in at 4 pm and am still full.
Service was very slow but washed with 2 botles of 4 pines kolsch and an ocean view becomes hard to fault.
I still don't get the catch here.. It's highly unprofitable to operate this way, but who's complaining.

      • I was wondering the same thing - I guess their profit comes when you buy loads of drinks while waiting for ages for the pizzas to come out, LOL!

  • did coffees count as a drink?

  • Intro:

Went to the one in Darling Harbour and man was it terrible. I ate pizza in several countries, hundreds of restaurants but the "food" they have been serving to us was below average. Starting with a completely unfriendly and rude service, who does not even seem to know about this offer, to an absolute horrific price scheme (talking about 13AUD for a bottle of cider, 5AUD for a glass of coke with 80% ice in it) to a food which probably gives you a bad stomach for weeks.

    Pizza:

Cold, tasteless, heavily burned (!), next to zero topping, one meter pizza every 30-40minutes (good luck if you manage to even get a hard and small corner piece).

    Atmosphere:

Terrible dark (so you probably don´t see the burned food) and squeezed all together at the bar (approx. 10 seats, way too less for event a monday afternoon crowd), music too loud for afternoon, forbidden to enter the actual restaurant (told in a rude way, so forget about sitting and seeing the harbour)

    Drinks:

Heavily overpriced, even with the 2for1 offer, cocktails tasteless and only made of ice with a hint of juice

    Service:

Rude, unfriendly, cold, no smile at all

Save yourself a bad time and avoid the terrible food. I have been to Crinitis before (which was mostly ok), but this offer and the current staff at their Darling Harbour restaurant should be avoided by far.
