  • Same price here, and you get store credit also. https://www.thegoodguys.com.au/canon-1300d-single-lens-kit-1…

  • How would this compare to a Canon 60D?

    • 60D is better. Better body, auto focus, articulated LCD screen, view finder, speed etc…
1300D has wifi and NFC, but Canon's wifi implementation is @!#!@#.

  • I bought this at OW 2 yrs ago for the same price and it is worth for the price I paid…

  • Think it was $464 on the weekend and at TGG too. Debated for too long.

    • The picture quality is in the glass not the body

If all you have is a budget of 400-500 (which is what I'm reading given you're lamenting a $40 odd difference - apologies if I'm wrong), you might be better served getting a mark 2 or 3 Sony rx100

      • The picture quality is in the glass not the body

That would only be true if the sensor didn't matter, auto focus coverage and speed didn't matter, metering didn't matter, dynamic range didn't matter, control of external flash didn't matter, ability to view the screen at different angles didn't matter etc. etc.

If the body didn't matter, pros wouldn't waste money on expensive bodies. In photography, as in life, you will be let down by the weakest link. That can be the glass or it can be the body.

In the right conditions and selecting subject you can make amazing pictures with some of the oldest DSLRs. And a good photographer will really make the absolute most of their gear. But if you need low light, fast action, high dynamic range, control of various flash units - basically any unusual or demanding shooting situation, your body will matter.

        • What is your point?

This body has 9AF points and a max ISO of 6400. And a DIGIC4 processor which is pretty damn old.

Quite frankly it isn't that good.

But thanks for pointing out what a camera can do on paper

          @sagiballs:

I thought it was pretty obvious.

You said: The picture quality is in the glass not the body.

My point: You're wrong. The body matters.

        • @syousef:

          Thank you genius.

Did you know that even with the same fuel a Lamborghini gallardo is faster than a Toyota Corolla?

          Amazing huh

        • @sagiballs:

          You're just trolling. Goodbye.
