Philips Fidelio X2 Headphones $295 Delivered @ KG Electronic eBay

200
CSUN20

I noticed these headphones are currently cheaper than Amazon (who currently has no stock or AU delivery) and cheapest that I could find on OzBargain.

They have briefly been cheaper on Amazon with ~$265 AUD before delivery and using current exchange rate. http://camelcamelcamel.com/Philips-X2-27-Fidelio-Headphones/… however for the year they are historically cheap ATM.

Ebay seller has not altered price for the 20% off sale: http://offer.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewBidsLogin&item…

Headphone reviews:

tl;dr: These open headphones are excellent for gaming and as all rounder audiophile headphones due to extreme comfort and massive soundstage for 3D positioning. They reproduce incredible bass whilst maintaining balanced trebles and high pitched sounds. Does not require an amp although one is recommended for best performance.

I have not used these headphone before and I'm summarising the following reviews:

Gaming specific review: http://www.head-fi.org/t/534479/mad-lust-envys-headphone-gam… (expand headphone list and use control + F to find fidelio X1. The X2's are the next entry in the list but since they are "improved X1's" much of the commentary for the X1's applies and you should read that before you look at the X2 entry).

    Finally, A deal post…

Beware, the quality has changed since they were first released so take older reviews on build quality with a grain of salt

    • This video covers the changes, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B5lJdUy-1Ck
      (contains swearing, maybe)

    • Yeah I bought a pair at the last KG sale, but had to return them because right channel wasn't working.

Returned it, but they were out of stock at that point, so got a refund.

Still want them though, they were very comfy on my head.

Great price. Purchased my pair from this store in June under a similar promotion. For anyone wanting a pair of quality open cans you can't really go wrong here. Easy to drive so can be used at home and portable (if you wish). Recommended.

  • Similar price last kg 20% off sale. Didn't buy because weren't able to try them out before buying.

Was looking at these a while ago but couldn't bring myself to take the risk on the build quality issues after they moved manufacturing to Mexico - hopefully that's been resolved.

    Got some AKG K7xx's instead

I had both the pre and post 'quality' issues. They sounded exactly the same, only difference was the pads were glued on (never sold replacements anyway and they popped off with a little force if you really did need to remove them for some reason) and were slightly stiffer, which I actually preferred.

It was much ado about nothing.

      • Yeah fair enough - I read issues like uneven L/R balance, black stains from the earpads and glued pads (which wasn't a huge issue to me). Interested by the solid bass for open phones though

  • Have a pair of these and absolutely love them, by no means consider myself an audiophile but super comfy, sound great and have a great feel.

    Definitely recommend!
