Samsung Galaxy S7 Tempered Glass Screen Protector

Hi,
I'm looking for a good Samsung Galaxy S7 tempered glass screen protector.
I usually buy the Spartan and find them to be reliable but I have heard they do not provide full screen protection because of the curvature of the phone.

Can anyone recommend a good screen protector that covers the full screen?
Checked ebay and the like but cannot judge the quality etc so looking for advice from people who have bought one.

Thanks

  • Go to xda-developers.com, put Samsung Galaxy S7 into the search box, go to forum, go to accessories sub-forum.

Search accessories forum for "tempered glass screen protector", read threads about good/bad, open Amazon/eBay new tab to look at prices for good ones then pick one to buy.

  • Apparently the s7 has a slight curve and that's why they don't cover the complete screen.
Search for a screen protector that's fully covers the screen, see if that is what u are after.

  • Bought a couple to try on my S7 edge and I'm not sure if the technology is there yet. The protectors both didn't feel great and started to lift (I think i'm pretty competent at putting them on so I don't think it was user error).
One was $10, the other $25 I think as I thought the more pricey one might be a bit more legit.

Took them both off and just rolling without a screen protector atm. Been a few months and not a scratch, just being careful not to drop it.
Screen itself is pretty resistant to most stuff, so imo it would be better to get a good case and a good PET film protector at this stage and wait for a good tempered glass protector to be produced in the future.

  • What you want is full 'edge to edge' coverage

I recently bought a GPEL branded tempered glass from Optus store for a S7.. seems to be working okay so far but not cheap at $50

    • Could you let me know how the GPEL protector has fared so far?
Did you get the gen2 variant?

  • So that's another reason Edge is stupid :D

      even the 7 has curvature.

  • Thank you for all the replies!

Any thoughts on this one guys?

  • Just go without, that's what I'm doing. I've paid a premium for a premium phone and i don't want a nasty protector ruining my experience. Had my S7 a month now and no scratches. Obviously I've been careful to drop it or having in my pocket with keys ect.

I've paid for a premium phone so I'm investing in protection to keep it premium.
It won't ruin my experience. It will ensure longevity of my experience and make sure my product remains a premium product.
I've always used protectors so i guess im used to it.

  • Can't raw dog it. Need to protect my new beautiful baby! @Sunny84 S7 vanilla or edge?

Also, can you get glass protection for the rear?

  • I'm using a flexible screen from IQ Shield and it's pretty good. I agree w/ the earlier poster who said that the actual glass ones aren't there yet. This flexible plastic one doesn't feel quite as good as a true glass protector, but it's not bad. Clarity is fine and it works with a case.

While it's not as awesome as I'd like, I think it's well worth the trade off of potential damage from dropping it.

  • I bought 2 glass covers for my SG7, but ended up ripping them off. One was 20 microns and 1 was 10(I think) but both felt wrong and made the phone less responsive. I know you a brilliant plastic alternative to prevent scratching. Not at all noticeable, and half the price of a glass cover from ebay.

    • can u give us details which one you bought?

I have an S7 Edge, and from what I have experienced and read about, the curved screen protectors are all fairly ordinary as they don't make provision for a variety of cases. I am of the opinion from watching various tests, that the Samsung screen is fairly tough, but not immune to micro scratches. For that reason, I started looking at a wet apply skin and found good reviews on this one.

I ordered one of the case friendly versions and it only took 9 days to get here. It requires a little bit of patience and leaving it to cure properly for a day. It fits perfectly in my Spigen Neo Hybrid case and the touch sensitivity feels like there is nothing on the screen.

It's only been on my phone for 24 hours now, but if it has an issue, I'll report it back here later.

  • So can I assume there are no real good glass protector for s7 edge? Even the phone shops I went to refuse to put on glass protector for s7 edge, they said too much problem for them which is understandable..
