Big W - 40% off Cookware, Pans, Knives & Knife Block Sets - Starts Thursday

260

Catalogue starts Thursday - check out the catalogue for other deals: http://catalogues.bigw.com.au/portal/

40% cookware and pans & 40% knives and knife block sets stood out for me personally. Most other places like target tend to only have 20~30% off sales.

I can't be the only one with a few pans looking a bit worse for wear and knives that couldn't cut butter lol.

Update

Just saw that Kmart have only the Tefal brand fry pans at 50% off also: http://www.kmart.com.au/Catalogue/Catalogue.aspx?CatalogueID… Catalogue also starts Thursday.

  • nice work, good to see some cooking theme'd specials … i'll give it a positive, even though i wont buy anything

  • +1

Just remember not to buy something cheap and non stick, you'll be throwing it out pretty quickly.

    • and they would probably end up in your food too …. yummy plastic goodness :D

    • Do you consider Tefal as "something cheap" or not?

      • Yep. Most definitely "something cheap".

        • Ridiculous. Tefal is great value if you take care of it. I bought two Tefal frying pans in Kmarts 50% sale sometime last year and they're still going strong.

          • @His_Holiness: Good pots and pans last 10-20 years, not 1 year.

Hope you enjoy your crumbly chunks of black metallic stuff if your dinners. That BigW/K-Mart Tefal rubbish falls apart after 18months almost like clockwork.

            • @infinite: All of them non-sticks do. I have a Scanpan titanium and it too falls apart after several years. But given the cost of these, I am inclined to think those cheap $9 ones at woolies will do as surely 10 of them will last just as long and give more sustained performance than those 'expensive' ones.

That "black metallic stuff" is called Teflon. If you prefer not to have the potential health hazards try using stainless steel. I also have one but it can be a pain maintaining it.

              • @foggy10: So every non-stick pans including the titanium, anodised or whatever else is actually coated and the coating will fall apart eventually? I thought that the expensive ones use no coating method like the cheaper one, but instead the whole black metal itself is non stick so nothing can be scraped. It looks like I am wrong?

  • Sadly Big W is still on my boycott list until Wollies support Visa Debit cards again. :(
