    UGG boots are always going to look a bit bulky, but I thought these would be perfect for dad, who complains of cold feet but likes a slipper he can still use to walk out to the car for short errands.

      Correct, they always look a little bulky because of the thick sheepskin, this is a great style for around the house and those quick trips down to the shops. We have supplied an office building with these they absolutely loved them and get away with wearing them as work shoes :)

    Great to see an Australian company, making UGG boots in Australia, instead of foreign countries ripping us off and passing themselves off as authentic. Great to see them promoting on ozBargain and taking the trouble to introduce them to us. Big +1 from me. (Yes, I'm gushing, but I believe in supporting Aussie who do what they do well).

          Sourced locally in Melbourne, we purchase pre tanned skins.

          @matt90: As far as I know there is only 1 tannery left in Australia and their quality is no good, so the normal process is (to my knowledge) to send Aussie sheepskin overseas for the tanning process which is then returned to Australia. The issue is some people are bringing back whole boots, partially made boots, and calling it "Australian made"

          That is my understanding, Like I said I could be wrong but unfortunately manufacturing in Australia is an industry that gets no support (from the Govt) which is why so many people go offshore.

          In our case we source our skins locally in Melbourne, are the skins tanned here or there we cannot be 100% sure.

          We take the tanned skin and make the UGGs start to finish in Melbourne.
