do bing lee have change of mind policy for their ebay purchase ?

    • Also wondering this. Bought the V8 Animal yesterday with the 15% code. This code hadn't been discovered yet at the time so I excitedly opened it and tried it out.

Edit: just checked their website and they don't allow change of mind returns so would be the same for ebay.

      • Bing doesn't like "you change mind.. buy then that's it!"

      • Just tell them you want to cancel your order and get a refund on their Ebay contact seller, they will refund you money straightaway.

    • their web team is very easy with cancellation and returns from experience whether purchased on Binglee webite or their Ebay store

  • Hi All, can anyone let me know how to purchase the 2 year extended warranty in ebay?

    • +1

You can try ask in stock when you pickup.

      • thank you, have u got or heard any successful story about that?

        • +1

I called yesterday and the store rep said you cannot buy additional warranty for ebay purchase because it is totally separate deal and they don't touch ebay receipt even when you pick up in store. So disappointing and I just don't understand why we can't if the product is from them.

        • @djapa0:
When I bought from good guys on eBay, a rep called me and added the warranty over the phone- just asked for my credit card details

        • @tomski182: sadly TGG does not do 20% off..

        • +1

@Tyler Kwok: yeah I was sharing my experience with a similar business

        • I picked mine up this morning after using C&C and asked about extended warranty. I purchased an extra 2yrs for $119.00 easy as.

  • Any one know if the V8 attachments work on the V6?

    • v8, v6, or dc45 similar series, their attachements work ONLY within their series. I have verified it in jb hifi yesterday.

Keep in mind that Chromecast 4K will launch soon, October 4 most likely

    • Thanks mate I had no idea, was looking at getting a Chromecast 2 but I'll wait. Hopefully the 4K won't be too expensive

  • Ouch, paid $848 at Myer :(

  • Does anybody know if Bing Lee offer a tax invoice? :/

    • Yeah they do just bought one and got the tax invoice from Bing Lee via email

      • Oh, great! Thank you!

        • Only thing is it shows the GST as the lower (after discount price) . When I bought a camera under a similar code it showed the higher GST so I got more back . Unfortunately I'm not going on the next holiday so my husband will have to carry a vacuum on a cruise to get the trs.

  • Anyone own a corded Dyson Small Ball Upright (a newer replacement of DC50) or the Cinetic ball multi floor? I am keen to know your review or experience.
I am just not too sure about all these cordless Dyson even the new V8 because of the need to constantly charge them which to me is just a waste of electricity and no matter how good the lithium battery is, over course of the years it would definitely lose its charge gradually. And V6 only runs for 20min per charge and V8 doubles it which is plenty long enough for a vacuum.
I just more concern about cost saving for running it versus portability.

Currently considering small ball upright (5.5kg) to push vs Cinetic Ball (a hefty 7kg) to drag around. Hate the various options by Dyson, too much option with various heads and attachment.Too confusing.

    • +1

The weight of the two do not matter when moving on floors, both move smoothly with no struggle. It's only carrying the two up the stairs is where you feel the weight.
Dyson gives options as not everyone has the same cleaning situations so they give many options.

Honestly, it is user preference on whether getting an upright or a barrel, based on things like storage space and personal previous experience to what they are used to.

The V8 is not a vacuum that replaces the corded ones anyways, despite a longer run time it is still designed as a spot cleaning vacuum and works alongside a main corded vacuum. They also turn themselves off when charging once it reaches 100%. They do not add that much of electricity consumer any more than any appliances you have but that is understandable if you do not have to add in areas where you do not need to.

What is your cleaning situation like (house size, floor types, any main focus such as hair)?

      • Hair and dust is the main issue. Hard floor and tiles, no carpet at the moment but might have carpet in the future so I need all the flexibility. No stairs. Productreview.com.au shows plenty of complains of DC50 Upright not able to pick up rice grain which sounds very surprising for Dyson product.

I was recommended to get Small Ball Upright, apparently a new replacement for DC50 but have not seen it in store yet anywhere. I do like the space saving of Small ball upright but hates the hassle of dragging the tube wand out of the pole and also no automatic retracable cords and no HEPA filter which is shocking for a $700-800 dyson product. Filter has to be rinsed often.

As for Cinetic, the hefty weight of 7kg of weight is a concern and one has to move up to allergy to get the proper attachment and motor head. Is carbon fiber turbine head much better than musclehead? Storing cinetic is a problem with the hose/wand dangling loosely or separately.

        • Rice thing is interesting to me, I have not yet come across such a problem.

Their filters are designed differently hence the need to not be a HEPA version and the filters recommended need be washed once a month, under cold tap water is enough nothing else extra and not often to be honest.

They are in Harveys and The good guys stores on display and demo, come in on a weekend if you can, most stores have a demonstrator there to help you choose.

The features you mention you liked, pretty much explains when I meant user's preference, both have pros and cons but at the end of the day it's your choice on which features you like more.

But you have no stairs? So lifting it won't be a big issue?
The Turbine head picks up more in general. Both heads can work on both carpet and hard floor. Based on what you said on cleaning situation, minimum you need is either Small Ball Multi floor or Cinetic Ball Multi floor plus Tangle free tool if you are picking up really long hairs.

  • What are key advantages of v8 over v6? I just bought the standard v6 from DJ for $349.

    • +2

Stronger pickup power and performance, longer run time, bigger cannister. The V6 is still a great machine, V8 is just an option on top over the V6 series.

      • +1

Run time does increase from 20min (v6) to 40min (v8) but so does the charging time 3,5hours (V6) increases to a whopping 5hours for V8. A step back in my opinion.

        • +1

Well, they increased the capacity so naturally, it will take longer, just like portable battery chargers. Yes I agree It takes long to charge but that isn't their selling point.

        • +1

We need qualcomm quick charge on these things…

  • v8 ones are running out the door..

    • Yeah about 100 sold in 3.5 hours, a good $65,000 spent on vacuums :P The $679.20 Absolute is much more popular than the $599.20 Animal version, about 85 absolutes sold vs 15 animals.

      • 135 SOLD now…. I think BingLee will take this one offline soon…

  • Nice Fridge Deal - Im looking for one atm, but no Bing Lee for collection in my area :(
    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/NEW-Fisher-Paykel-RF522ADX5-519L-…

  • bought the v8 animal, coz they dont do shipping to Perth for v8 absolute and my main use is carpet anyways.

Which idiot would spend $800 on a (profanity) vacuum cleaner when a shopvac would do any job faster, more reliably and with better results?

Couldn't help myself, just brought the V8 Absolute and pick it up tomorrow. Thanks OP!!

    • Did you able to collect it the day after?

      • Yep. Brought about 9pm the night before & picked up at 10am the next morning. I did however have to contact BL to move them along a bit as I wasn't going to wait for them to contact me re pickup.

        • Thanks! I'm planning to get it before going abroad for gst refund. So i better contact them first before purchase?

        • Your going to take the vacuum overseas with you to claim the GST refund? Fair enough. If you can still purchase via this deal through eBay, as long as your local Bing Lee store has it in stock you can C&C usually within a few hours. I always contact them just in case as my local store is very slack when it comes to C&C at times.

        • +1

i still have plenty luggage capacity left, so let's give it a shot, lol. I have a store in stock nearby but I'll just follow ur lead to check on them first just to make sure. Thanks a lot m8

  • Please amend title as postage not available to WA on the dyson V8 absolute. Gutted :(

  • Thanks OP. Just got a Cinetic Big Ball Animal Pro for the mother-in-law for $808.20 delivered to Melbourne.

  • +2

Dyson V8 Absolute is no longer available for purchase. Sold out.

    • Gutted! Missed out on this.

      • Hopefully they restock

  • Anyone know if you can buy the soft roller head from Dyson. Wanted the absolute, but sold out so bought the animal.

    • Nope, you can not buy it separately, you can only buy one as a replacement if it came with the machine originally.

  • When does this deal end?

    • 26th September, if the items aren't sold out before then.

  • I bought the dyson absolute vacuum using the 20% discount from bing lee ebay on Friday night. I received an invoice from paypal but yet to receive an invoice from bing lee. Has my payment gone through? there was nothing debited from my bank account??

    • Check your purchase history in eBay to ensure it's purchased and 'marked as paid' and also click the transaction in your PayPal account to ensure payment was sent and isn't pending for any reason. Sounds like it went through fine though, it can take some days before the money is debited from your bank account/credit card.
