Bought a TV at JB on Sunday. It's Now Been Reduced. Can I Get a Refund?

Greetings fellow tightarses,

Bought the Sony KD55X8000C on Saturday in store for $1,296. It's now been advertised for $1,111.

Given it's only 5 days ago, do I have any avenues to get the difference back?

You can ask nicely, and that's about it.

  • Given it dropped so quickly and I could technically return it I thought I might be eligible for some kind of compensation.

Might pop in tonight and try my luck.

  • You can ask, if they do give you credit, it's out of goodwill and not because you are legally entitled to it.

What kind of compensation are you talking about?

Just rang them on the phone. They'll refund the difference.

That's what I was talking about.

    • Thats awsesome.
Do you have to go in store to get the refund?
If so can you ask if this is a 'practice' JB will be doing in future!
I am sure this will be of use down the track for some people.

They just put me through to the Hi-Fi section, I asked nicely and the guy was fine with it. Just said "yeah, no probs dude we'll do it for you, just bring in your receipt"

I'll update you later if you like & see if it's actual policy or not. I actually got it on 50 months interest free, so will be interested to see what they do for me.

Update - Refunded the difference via in-store credit. More than happy with that. While I don't think it's official policy, they seem to be under the direction to appease customers in these positions and they were actually a pleasure to deal with.

    Store was Hoppers Crossing Vic.

    • Happy for you to get a good outcome.
