Noob Question Best Way to get a Refund from Ebay

I am new to buying items on Ebay. Few days ago I got tempted to buy a Nexus 5x from DWI on the Ebay store. They took the payment but I never got the email that it was shipped. Then after I messaged DWI I got a reply from them they are out of stock and I will have to wait a few more weeks.

They offered refund and cancellation, I said I want a refund, but a few days have gone past and I still haven't gotten a refund and they have not replied back.

Is there a way I can get Ebay involved to push along this refund, I feel DWI are targeting me as I am a noob Ebay user.

    It can take up to a week to go back into your bank account or back to your credit card

    Did you pay by Paypal?

    Refunds via Paypal is pretty quick, last refund I got was within a few hours. If the funds was paid with CC or bank (via Paypal), it may take a few days to show on your bank account, but the notice of refund from Paypal is less than a day.

        Initiate a ebay/paypal dispute for item not received if they wont reply.

      Actually if you paid via paypal with a card it is not instant there is a delay of a few days for the refund to process

      If you paid with the balance on your account from already acquired money it should be instant back into the account

      I've seen this delay on my Commbank debit card take 3-5 days to process as a refund due to the nature of the refund being funded from a debit / credit card

      I'd be waiting this time frame before nagging PayPal as they will say the exact same as I have quoted above

      Was it funded by a debit or credit card ?

        Part of it was funded by credit card part of it was my balance on my paypal account.

        Im not talking about when the funds actually returns back to your bank card, Im talking about the notice/email from Paypal that a refund has been initiated.

        I got a refund the other day via Paypal, funds hasnt appeared on the card yet but I received an email from Paypal that a refund has been initiated and that I may take a few days for it to appear on the card.

          Yup, or at least a courtesy notice of refund from DWI would be appropriate.

    Op, you should check your eBay msg. Any cancellation or refund will show up in your ebay inbox before pp even blinks.

        Talk to ebay online chat and they will show you how to use the resolution centre to open a case for a refund.
        Or alternatively log the case through paypal for the refund.

          I talked to ebay on the phone, and they said I have to wait till the delivery date for them to do anything.

    I've had a refund via PayPal but PayPal's fees took a significant chunk of the proceeds.

        Don't stress dude, once it's sorted ebay/paypal will ensure you get 100% refund.

    even with Paypal, can still wait weeks for supplier to actually refund monies. I waited nearly 3 weeks for Centrecom to refund, despite getting emails confirming it was refunded. Liars.

    I found a cheaper deal than my DWI Nexus 6 order and DWI were happy to cancel it for me, they refunded in around 2 hours. However it had already been 3 days since order so you may have to wait for the transaction to clear on your card before they refund!
