My late father used to own a 1970 merc. he used to call her daloo3a. In arabic meaning spoilt…He used to look after it and loved it.
A few years ago I bought a 1971 280 merc, couldn't find one the same model and year but this was close enough, as the shape is pretty closeMy wife bought me the number plates with dalo3a and since I call the car that.

My daily car is called "the golf" or "the GTI". My weekend car is called "Barney" because it's an old purple dinosaur. My friends have also called it "dairy milk" or "Cadbury"
My Civic is metallic grey (contradicting I know, since the name was actually derived from the word "golden").

I name my car purely as a mnemonic to remember the license plate.
The name I select will be based on the numbers and letters in the plate.e.g Fictitious license plate (just made up on the spot)

I call my car Sandiego, CARmen Sandiego. Because she's bright red, reminiscent of how the character from the old video game dressed.

My mates named them for me actually. One is Rove and the other is Izzy. They supposed to be female names but they're stuck now ;)

I used to have a Falcon, then got a Mitsubishi 380 as a second car, which was then nicknamed the Snowman to differentiate it from the Falcon.
Just got a new car this week which I call The Lev. However everyone else calls it my girlfriend, or "Shut up about your new car already" which I think is a catchy nickname
I call my Honda CRV Cherry because she's red, well used and full of semen stains.
