Good price and very interested thanks. Is the warranty 12 or 24 months on this? eBay listing says 24 months but Huawei's website says 12 months :-o

      Hi alz

Sorry, its 12 months warranty, our mistake, corrected from our end be update on ebay in few mins.

All good, to make things nice between us you need to give me another $50 off :)

I thought ACL forced local phone stocks to have 24 months warranty?

        • Hi wolfie

24 months warranty for all network stock.

        • +5

ACL forced them to have warranty for a reasonable period of time. What's reasonable is up to interpretation. But in most cases I think you should be able to argue (successfully) that 24 months warranty should apply for a mobile phone at this price point. The rep was referring to the manufacturer's warranty period which is a completely different matter.

        • @mobileciti: thx for clearing that up.

      • hi, is there any phone with 4G + 4G or 4G + 3G Dual sim?

  • Don't forget cashrewards

If it had been this price maybe 8 months ago I would have jumped on it. Not sure what huawei were doing with this pricing. Sure it's a nice phone, but not -that- nice.

Mate 9 is launching in Nov. Hope Mobileciti get it in stock soon'ish.

  • Oldish YouTube review here (Jan 16') https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kAnAe9ediP4
    Looks like a decent option!

    I think … maybe NEXUS 6P better?

    • If you need vanilla Android and USB C then go for 6P. All else are going for Mate 8.

      • +1

If you want security patches and regular updates, stereo front facing speakers, high res screen, better camera, then 6P is the only way to go.

        • Not wanting to start flaming war, your 1st point I've already covered. 2nd point is a niche feature that most users aren't looking for. Higher res screen most of the time just cause higher battery drain while serving spec sheet purpose. And lastly, the 6P camera is not better if you turn off HDR, good luck taking snap with HDR on.

        • @Wolfie: will I guess now buy neither, buy the MI5s plus…..

  • this is the single sim, correct?

then ebay deal grey import dual sim with slightly less price is much better.

No B28 support with dual sim. Also the 2nd sim will be useless in couple months anyway.

      • so i was wrong.
this thread is for NXT-L09 single sim with band 28
L29 is grey import stock dual sim without band 28
are you sure about second simcard only 2G?

        • Very confident, there is no report on the Kirin chip in Huawei's phone that can do 4G/3G. Only the latest Qualcomm chips are found to have that function, there is a long thread on whirlpool about this.

        • i heard only Xiaomi Mi5 and Mi Max has dual sim with 4G and 3G.

      • All good if the 2nd sim is with Voda, no GSM closure date yet.

        • From memory Voda's 2G footprint is a lot smaller though, like 50% compare to big 2…

  • Thanks Mate

    :)

NFC? I'm loving the P8 I bought at the end of last year but the next phone will have to have NFC

    • yep it has NFC and finger print thing.

      • I bought the L09 variant of the P8 and it was listed as being Dual Sim + NFC, turned out it wasn't hence I was hoping the rep could confirm with certainty. Its all good my RedMi Note 4G will continue to soldier on as the second phone. Might wait for the P9 to come down in price a bit

        • +1

P9 and Mate8 local stocks all have NFC but with single sim. I have both so I can confirm that.

        • @arctan: how are you finding the P9? I am tempted by it

          @aim54x:

Great Leica lens which makes taking photo a pleasure. Good battery life and screen size too. I like it so far.

  • Real nice phone, would have been my #2 choice after the s7 edge that i ended up getting. Only problem with the mate8 is the camera isnt flagship level amazing according to gsmarena. Good but not amazing.

Should I laugh or not?The deal got 46 upvotes so far while only 1 sold today in Purchase History?!

  • +1

For this phone the price is good, but this phone was so overpriced. I can not be convinced to get this one rather than Samsung s7 series, especially when the price are so close. S7 has much better screen and soc.

  • I got the 64gb dual sim version for $577 from ebay
