        • @jackthefrost: I suppose it depends if they get sent at the same time. I purchased 2 x MacBook Air from a recent DS deal. One got delivered yesterday. The other hasn't even shipped.

      • So different names same address is fine?

  • I'd recommend anyone buying an iphone to buy the 7+. Dual camera is so much better and the resolution on the plus is much better. Only benefits of the regular one is size and price…..but if you were gonna drop 1k on an iPhone, what is an extra $150 anyways…

    • +1

No it's a marginal improvement which Apple users seem to like.

Are you able to stick to a budget? People that do don't spend the additional $150 because they decided to lower the value of money in order to obtain an item they want.

      • +3

Every modern smart phone is a marginal improvement over the last one.

      • The whole point is that you're gonna buy an expensive phone anyways, why not spend abit extra and get a much better model imho? Same thing can be said about grey/local stock.

        • The whole point is you're not getting a much better model…

    • TBH if Apple ever released their smaller phones with the exact specs of the Plus sized models, no one would even talk about another brand. It will be hard to deny an Iphone unless you are completely against IOS.

The Plus is just way too big. Maybe they can get rid of those gigantic bezels on the next gen…

    • I wouldn't buy a phone for the Camera benefits..

    • Plus is too big for most people, regular one is better from comfort point of view.

yar know, they iphone 7 is starting to grow on me, the new button isnt that bad when the force touch feedback is activated, ofcourse they will try to have it without a physical rim around it next time, and just a on screen simulated one in future, but ehh what can ya do, apple have gotten sloppy, stretching it out for another generation to 3 years and possible 4, is something that jobbs wouldnt have stood for,, oh well

im coming form a 6 so its worth the upgrade but only just.

  • Beware these are most likely hong kong stock which is actually a different model with different LTE bands to the Australian model.

    • No one knows yet from previous thread so its 50/50 what model you get. The phone will still work there's no doubt about that otherwise they won't be selling it to Australian market.

      • +2

I'm not actually sure they are selling different models - I think they are releasing phones with more frequencies so they don't have to look after different versions.

        EDIT:
looks like the HK model (A1660) and AUS model (A1778) supports the same LTE bands:

  • Also you're bound to use more battery life with bluetooth headphones and you can't listen to music with wired earphones while you're on the go with portable charger. Next years anniversary update so that should be one to wait

7+ are $999.20 but seem to have 32Gb only.

    • +1

Damn, I just bought my 32GB iPhone 7+ from Apple last night…$270 is a big difference.

      • +4

You can still able to return it within 14 days as stated here.

        http://www.apple.com/au/shop/help/returns_refund

Not too sure what they mean by 'original packaging' of whether you have opened the box or not, but still worth a try.

        • Yeah, I think there is no issue returning it during the 14 days.

    • -1

Thanks legend! Just bought one of these :) if they didnt ship it within one week i will just cancel it.

      • "Estimated between Tue. 25 Oct. and Mon. 7 Nov." unfortunately.

        • I bought couple of items from Kogan website with 3 weeks estimated shipping and it was shipped within couple of days. At this price it worth to give it a shot :)

Here's one code for eBay 10%off, can't find anything for myself so pass it on to someone who'll be able to use it.
Not sure if it will work for you, as usual PayPal only

Jet black now in stock too for the same price: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Apple-iPhone-7-128GB-Jet-Black-/1…

  • Some advice fellow iPhone users - if i'm reasonably happy with my 6S (apart from a lack of storage space but can live with that), should I just wait until late next year and hope for some good deals on the 7? Or will they be around this price anyway and i should upgrade now while i can get a good price for my phone

    • +1

I think they will probably around this price when next year iPhone comes out. Given 6s (AUS Stock) were around this price: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/266755 over a week ago. Best strategy is to buy now and then resell it before the new release date confirm by Apple next year to get the latest phone with the smallest money spent.

    • +3

This is the best price available for the iPhone 7 - it has only been released two weeks today.
If you are happy with the iPhone 6s, then there is no real need to upgrade (unless like you say, more storage).

I went from 6S Plus to 7 Plus - main difference is the force touch home button (which I love), the new display (same as iPad Pro - DCI-P3 wide colour gamut, not RGB - I find it quite warm) and the lack of headphone port (which is no issue for me).

    • +2

If you are definitely after the iPhone 7, then jump on this deal. 20% off with 1 year global warranty is pretty amazing. I'll be honest though, this iPhone isn't that radically different to the 6S. It's basically a more refined version of the 6/6S. Wait for iPhone 8 lol.

I bought it, and then cancelled it cause of buyers remorse. But it's a good price yo

      • +1

        Ditto :D

    • thanks all, i'm slightly leaning towards the 'adult' in me that says "what are you doing you fool, the expensive smartphone you already have will do just fine"

  • +3

Wasn't gonna buy iPhone 7 since it's not a major refresh. held off for about two weeks then saw this and boom. iPhone 7 on the way :0

  • I don't think you'll have to wait long for them to deliver. I mean the last iPhone 7 promotion they did with 20% was 20-31 Oct estimated delivery and few of them have already got theirs according to eBay feedback.

  • Brought the iPhone 6s literally 7 weeks ago for the same price. Is there any ways I can get a refund and move on to the iPhone 7?

  • -1

Would any kind soul have an Ebay voucher that they will not use and are willing to spare? Please pm me, your generosity is much appreciated!

  • For anyone asking about TRS + Aust model; 32gb is 1059+10 delivery at Big w; with the 5% discount on Wish Gift Cards at Cashrewards, the price comes somewhat close(r) to this deal.

  • -4

Does anyone have a spare ebay code they don' t plan to use please

  • +1

Just bought iPhone 7 128 GB Rose Gold. I hope that the model they sent are all compatible with all local bands and support all carriers here in Oz.

  • darn it. i missed it

  • I wonder if kogan is cruising around HK with a wad of our cash negotiating some deals for us

  • According to whirlpool a few people already have their tracking details. https://forums.whirlpool.net.au/forum-replies.cfm?t=2570527

    • Got mine today from HK. Toll priority

      • Wow, good to hear! Which phone did you order?

        • Apple iPhone 7 (32GB, Silver) came with invoice, don't have to request for it

  • Got my shipping notification!

  • Got mine yesterday, less than 2 weeks. Well done DSE

    • Got the phone or tracking details?

      • Got the phone @bellpop

    • When did you receive your shipping notification?

      • 2-3 days before the phone @C Meister

      • I received my notification 2 days after I had received the phone!

yes their service seems to improve a lot

  • Anybody know whether it comes with 1 year or 2 years warranty?

  • Got my Silver 128gb today and it had a scratch on the metal casing straight out of the box! Also when I turned it on it went straight to the home screen (rather than the iOS 10 welcome screen) which I thought was odd. The language was also set to Cantonese.

    Anyone else experienced this?

    • Looks like yours was opened and used. Report back to dick

      • Have done, thanks.

        • I think all of them were "used" before - when you turn the phone on it should not go to home screen, it should go through the registration / setting up process.
Mine was the same, but no scratches at least :)
I presume these were sold for telcos overseas and customers signed contract for them?
So technically brand new, but it has been touched before :)

    • I just contacted Dick Smith about this (not got mine yet, ordered the 7 Plus 32GB from them). Here is the reply I got:

      Hi xxx,

      Thank you for your patience.

I can confirm that the Apple iPhone 7 are 100% brand new and in their original box.

If there are any issues when your receive your purchase, you can contact our experienced Support team and they will be happy to assist you.

If you have any questions or concerns, please let me know.

      Kindest regards,
      Michael
      Customer Care Team

      • What else would they say? :D
In my case it looked brand new, original box, untouched cables, etc. The only thing that gave it away that it went to the home screen after turning on, not the setup procedure as a new phone should.
