Isn't office free to university students?

    • +1

Only universities whom have signed on the agreement. Some smaller ones have not. (Hence Microsoft offering this method). This is also aimed at people that need more copies.

    • +2

Yes, don't forget to check if your university has signed the agreement. If the email is done through Microsoft then you can log in and navigate to check through there.

      I see the settings here:

or your employer. If you already have office365/outlook cloud - you probably have the ability to install to 5 devices from your account.

Quick question:the office 365 and 1tb storage will both be expired after 4 years or just the 1tb storage?

    Thanks.

    • +1

Both! It asked you to enter a new code or link account after time is up. As per standard 365 copies

isn't this normal price? there's no special here

    • +1

ok, i was about to hit finallize payment and i went back, saw this comment?!
      This is a normal price?

      • +2

I fairly sure it is the normal price, my niece was after it a month or so ago and that's what it was back then.

      • Last email I got from them was 2 years, new email now says 4 years

      • +1

I signed up 3 years ago and got this same deal and price

      • +2

Its the normal price for students.

  • +2

While this isn't necessarily a deal, as I paid the same price when I got mine four years ago, I managed to get a bit of a bonus out of it - by activating an Office 365 Home subscription in addition to this, my account was converted to 5 devices with a 5 year expiry, essentially making all of the years Office 365 Home subscriptions, rather than Office 365 University.

Not sure whether this still works, but I still have quite a long time until mine expires…

  • noob question about the cloud storage: What is the normal price for 1tb 4 year subscription ?

    • $9/mth (includes Office 365 Personal)

      https://onedrive.live.com/about/en-AU/plans/

      • If I buy this deal, can my wife and I both use the 1tb cloud ( 1tb for each of us).

        • Only if you share the one account, otherwise it's $9 ea.

Note: there may be cheaper 1TB cloud providers if you don't require OneDrive.

        • +2

You'll recieve 1TB of OneDrive cloud storage per subscription (Uni of student copies).

For Private ($89 per year for 1 user or $9 month)
or ($119 per year for up to 5 users)

Alt you can buy onedrive storage on its own, but it not worth it.
If you just want storage, You can sign up to google drive, Reach level 4 on reviewing places (takes 2-3hrs and alot of bullshitting) and youll get 100gb free for a year.

  • I inadvertently did the same.

    I found 2 computers wasn't enough, so I bought a Home subscription of 1 year of Home 365 (5 PCs/1 year).

Mixing the 2 gave me 5 years, 5 PCs.

I was a little peeved it wasn't 5 years, 7 PCs, but overall it wasn't bad.

Although this is normal price, $99 for 2 PC's for 4 years is most definitely a bargain.

  • This been there forever

    • They change the package now and again, generally add some new things. My advise if you ever need to buy it and your brought it before talk to micrsoft, Last time I brought software, They chucked in a copy of windows and upgraded me to remote business support for nothing. There pretty sweet

  • So can I use this one on a microsoft account with a non university email, unlike the free student one which is tied to the uni email?

Also if you graduate, you keep the remaining time of the 4 years, while the free one you lose?

    • When I activated mine however many years ago I needed to provide my Uni email address as verification.

However, it expires upon the expiry date, not when you leave.

    • +1

You get to retain left over time.
Technically the free version if supply by your university should be uninstalled (I read the condition when at UON), once you graduate.
Also its worth checking once graduated if your university will allow you to forward emails for life and keep your .edu.au email.
UON does for students that graduate. that allows you to sign up for offers for life :)
