[StartHere] SIX months tracking.. Surely it shouldn't take this long.

Hi

As mentioned here: http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/1573 I'm still waiting for two Dell amounts, the first transaction was on 26/06/2007, the second 10/08/2007.

Both transactions still Tracking.. Submitted an 'enquiry' as requested for both transactions. Both resent to network after about 1 month and that's the status they've been in since.

Has anyone been successful with Dell or any merchant?

Steve, something must have gone wrong. Please advise.

Thanks

  • Hi,

I totally agree. Dell operates on a pretty much defunct network (DGMAustralia), they're the only merchant on there and is run through an agency which complicates things even more.

I have continually asked the Dell account manager for some feedback almost every two weeks, even if its to say that enquiries aren't going to be successful, but have never received a response.

I don't even know if the enquires have been passed on to Dell or their agents?

I am at a loss as to what to try next to be honest, any suggestions most appreciated.

All I can do is apologise, sorry.

    Cheers, Steve.

  • Gezzz 6 months! My tracking is over a month & I'm thinking that's a long time.
Steve, you know the time frame for my tracking from Apple store?

  • Hi, I have been tracking from the Apple store for 10 weeks now. Is this normal?

  • To give you an idea of how long transaction take to get paid, here is how one of the affiliate networks works:

"All Affiliates are paid 60 days in arrears for each month of the year. For example, if you made $1000.00 in the month of January we will pay you on the 01 of April – 60 days later.

On January 01 you would receive payment for the month of October in the previous year."

In fact although they say they pay on 1st of the month it doesn't reach our account until around the 15th, we then payout on the 1st of the month after that.

So you can see if you bought something on the 1st January, we wouldn't actually receive the money from the network until the 15th April and then we'd payout to you on the 1st May.

Unfortunately the networks impose these limits for the sake of the merchant so that returned or cancelled transactions can be cancelled and the moneyback withheld, we really don't impose these limits ourselves.

Some network do operate more quickly but as you can see in this worst case, if you're unlucky in the timing of your purchase you may have to wait up to 4 months to receive your moneyback.

    Hope this helps…
