  • I'm guessing PayPal is not a valid option and Credit Card/Direct Deposit are?

    • Yep

Read through the previous deals, people received their cards perfectly fine :)

    • +1

Correct, no Paypal. They were surprisingly quick in getting the money from a DD into my account though.

      • Yes very quick on dd and joined them last time when they was offering free. First time i used them other week and no complaints here.
But there was a big ? In store when i tried to use print out of digital voucher.
They went to manager etc to make sure all ok and was fine.

    • I recently bought over $5k worth of JB vouchers using the Direct Deposit method and received my egift cards fine.

Deposited the money on a Sat/Sun, codes received on Tues morning about 10/11am.

Would definitely use again, just have to plan ahead to make sure you have a day or 2 for bank transfer to clear or if you are in a rush, use the credit card option and take the 2% (3.3$ amex) surcharge.

      • +1

I recently bought over $5k worth of JB vouchers

Woah! At least $350 saved though, nice :)

        • +1

Yep and that was after negotiating a great price on a new TV, so 7% extra on top of whatever you can negotiate is great if you can wait for the gift cards.

        • @rysith: JB wouldn't go below ticket price on the TV for me as it was already on sale. It was $1 cheaper at GG/HN but couldn't be bothered to match for $1. Did get them to match GG who offer a $300 eftpos card though, so they gave me a $300 JB gift card.

Would have liked to save extra 7% but ah well.

        • @nubzy: Cant complain with that. What TV did you get if you dont mind me asking?

        • @ruddiger7: Samsung KS8000

Despite it being cheaper in the GG/eBay deal I don't think we will be seeing that occur again. And with the $300 gift card and 36,000 Velocity points think we got a pretty good deal.

        • @nubzy: Damn thats the one I am after in a 60 or 65"

        • @rysith: Were you able to negotiate the price and THEN transfer money and come back a few days later?

        • @skywalka:

Generally speaking, if you're negotiating, be prepared to buy it there and then. You're negotiating with that salesperson because they want the deal there and then.

        • @Spackbace: That's what I would have thought. It would be hard to know how much to buy in gift cards before haggling.

        • +2

@skywalka: I was lucky I knew the salesperson so he held the negotiated price for me. Otherwise, best to have the gift cards in hand before negotiating or buying a product already advertised at a set price so you can plan in advance

        • @rysith: Thanks for clarifying.

      • so I've confirmed my order with direct deposit. now do I literally just go and make a deposit into the account they listed with my order no. as ref no? or do I wait for an email or something asking me to do so…?

        • Make a direct deposit with the details they gave you and use your order no as your reference no/description.

  • Have been after some Coles gift cards to save on grocery spending (RIP ING Cashback) and this site is one of the few I could find that does discounted Coles/Myer cards.

Comments from the previous deal suggest the site is trustworthy. But my word, I hate the name!!!

  • damn would have come in handy for TV purchase a week ago. Good deal though, might as well sign up for $5.

  • so how does this work? you get x% off the price of the gift card?
ie: coles gift card worth $50, get discount of 5% = pay $47.50?

    • Yep, when paying with Direct Deposit there's no extra fees

      • so I've confirmed my order with direct deposit. now do I literaly just go and make a deposit into the account they listed with my order no. as ref no? or do I wait for an email or something asking me to do so…?

  • What happens if we have transfer the money and they run away ?

  • Somewhat unrelated, why do people buy giftcards on ebay for higher than their face value, for example: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Woolworths-Safeway-Wish-gift-card…

Pure profit if you buy the giftcards from a site like this.

    • +2

Not sure. I guess two cases I can think of is they have a coupon so they'll pay less than the asking price in the end, or if you are buying for an international store where getting credit is a bit more of a haste maybe you'll be happy to pay a small excess (particularly if it's for goods that are far cheaper overseas than locally, which offsets the cost).

Might be other reasons too, don't know.

    • +11

Money laundering would be my #1 guess

    • Ebay and Paypal both charge you a fee so you would end up losing money.

  • +1

are the 'digital' gift cards able to be used in store, or only online?
    cheers

    • +1

In store as well, just means you get it via email

  • Awesome - signed up

Now waiting for JB Hi Fi to have 10% of Apple Mac Book Pro's ….

  • +1

Screw the blues! Up the maroons! :)

    • +12

I heard the discounts only work 1 out of every 11 times you try to use them.

    • Neg vote by mistake. I have the hand-eye coordination of the blues back line.

  • +2

Pretty cool, takes a few dollars off that PS VR coming up…..

    • Exactly, placed a $50 deposit already, guess I'll buy a $500 gift card for the rest of the payment.

  • Are we allowed to wear national flag printed budgie smugglers to the games?

    • +2

Depends whether you have a pole to hoist the flag on.

    • Tourists are able to buy them from The Australian Way at the airport on their way in.

  • +1

He he they have to entice people to support NSW with gift vouchers….😂

    • Coz no one supports them.
      Go The Mighty Maroons..
      Woot-Woot..!! :)

  • Just bought $600 in EB cards to pay off my PSVR, wish me luck :)

    • +7

Good luck to payoff your PSVR

  • +2

Missed the freebie, but signed up at the same time. No issues so far. On a side note the Coles express gift cards were just coles myer gift cards so can be used anywhere within the coles group. The coles gift cards are egift cards and only valid at coles however. So if you buy enough to negate the $5 postage for the physical ones it's well worth it. If anyone else can confirm thats what they received as well.

  • It says Coles/Kmart in the description. Can this be used in Target or their petrol stations or is it limited to those two divisions?

    • +1

As per my post above but needing some confirmation. It definetly includes coles express, but I was sent colesmyer cards for the coles express cards ordered. Only placed one order of $2k so im still getting through them.

  • Dupe, it's been $5/year ever since the first deal. Which was posted at $5 then someone found a free one.
    It never expired.

  • Does anyone know how long it takes to get your e-gift card once purchased? Is it instant or need to wait a few hours if paying by CC?

    • It takes more than 24 hours. It has never been instant from my experience.

      • Cheers,

Bugger was hoping it was instant as picking up a gopro tonight from JB

        • +1

It has been instant both times in my experience when paying by CC. Used it for JB, got the 7% off (+2 in CC fees) and was able to use it for an instant purchase.

Same for EB games, recieved and checked validation within 2 minutes of purchase.

      • There is no reason why it should take that long if paying by cc

  • +1

Just signed up and noticed EB games gift cards are now 8% off. So title may need to be updated if they've reduced it?

  • +2

why I only have 4.5% off for coles/kmart/BWS and 8% off for Supercheap via online efift card purchase?
All e-gift card were less 0.5% to 1% discount different from post description :(

  • +2

Yes, have noticed the same, they have very recently reduced the discounts on many cards eg JB now 6%.

  • Post updated to reflect the changes

  • Does anyone know whether the eGift cards need to be used entirely in one transaction?

And if not, how good the app is at keeping track of the balance of each eGift card?

    • No, and what store are you referring to?

      • Thanks for the info. Specifically Coles/Kmart

        • Balance can be checked through either stores systems

        • @Spackbace: Ah, cool. I thought it was all managed through Blatcheys eWallet app.

Good to know it's all available for use through individual retailers.

  • +1

"this is still 1 of the few ways of getting cheaper Coles gift cards"

    What are the other ways?

  • Anyone received a card that they used bank transfer to pay for? Ordered a $500 EB card on Sunday. Still at the payment pending stage.. in my experience the money should have definitely appeared in their account today.

    • Hmm…strangely enough I can't even access my orders page, it just gives me a 404 error which is a little concerning :/

      • I have that too. But if you login to your account you can get to the orders page. Then see your order.

        • +1

Already tried and I don't even have an orders option to choose from.

Edit: Scrap that, I was checking from the wrong page it seems. Yeah mine still shows as processing. Should go through today sometime I would imagine…hopefully!

        • @Jonesy7707: click on ewallet. Your order will be in there.

  • +1

My $500 EB egift card just arrived via email. Deposited funds Saturday night, so not a bad turn around at all.

    • +1

      New console for you? :)

      • +1

Pay off my Pro pre-order and grab a couple of PSVR games ;)

    • Just got mine too :) will be using this again for the pro!

    • Mine just came too, I deposited on Friday.

  • As a current member, I am sad to see a reduction in the discounts. Curse everyone who signed up if that was the reason behind it :P

But seriously good luck to everyone whodid sign and is enjoying substantial discounts now. I hope they increase the discounts soon.

    • There was another deal for a Squash club, with same discount program, with the same reduced discounts.

So you might find it's with the discount provider keeping a bit more of the profit?

  • Hey,

    My first post, just wandering for the ones who have bought the ebgames giftcards;

    • Are they set denominations or can you scale to an exact amount like woolies ones?
    • Do you have to use the balance in one transaction?
    • And has anyone had dramas with using instore?
    • Haven't bought, but:

      • Set denominations (Available in $50, $100, $500)
      • Like any gift card, no, use it over as many purchases as you want
      • I would hope not!
  • +1

There is 5% off Priceline Egift and 8% off Physical Sanity Gift Cards. The Sanity deal is crazy good!

  • I can't seem to pay with credit card no matter what I try. Anyone else have issues with it?

  • +1

    JB HiFi - 7% Off -> 6% -> 3% now
    Coles/Kmart - 5% Off -> 4.5% ->3% now

    WoW this is insane.

    • How are they allowed to do this? I will be contacting Consumer Affairs. This is bullsh1t ! Not even worth the hassle now.

      • If you added funds into their ewallet. Then now, u got no choose to buy even in 3%..

        • Man, why you up so late ;) Lucky I did not add any extra funds. I might ask for refund of joining fee…

        • +1

          @billy_bob:

JB is back to 7% now!

        • I'd avoid adding funds to the eWallet. Instead you can purchase an eGift card but at checkout select bank transfer as the payment method. You have to wait a few days for them to get your money though.

  • +1

All discounts look to be back to original :)

    • JB HiFi - 7% Off (Available in $20, $50, $100, $500)
    • Coles/Kmart - 5% Off (Available in $50, $100, $500)
    • Barbeques Galore - 8% Off (Available in $50, $100, $500)
    • BWS - 5% Off (Available in $50, $100, $500)
    • EB Games - 9% Off (Available in $50, $100, $500)
    • Supercheap Auto - 9% Off (Available in $50, $100, $500)

    Physical Gift Cards ($4.50 Post):

    • Jay Jays - 10% Off
    • Just Jeans - 10% Off
    • Jeanswest - 10% Off
    • The Good Guys - 7% Off
    • Toys R Us - 7% Off
    • +1

Hi Spackbace, I actually wrote to them and threatened to take them to Consumer Affairs for changing the conditions without any notice. Got a call back the next day saying they "made an error" and would be fixed soon. Must have had a lot of complaints I reckon….a win for the OzBargain community!

      • Well done for that :)

  • +1

I've bought eGift Cards for Coles, K-Mart & Target. At all 3 I've been told they don't accept these. I've had to wait for staff, argue with staff and come back later.

    Hardly worth the discount.
