Looking for Power Efficient Floor Fan (Not Less than 40cm)

It's for surviving the summer for both me and the dog. had a browse of the TGG website,
most of them don't list watts/hr. The one that does says 100 watts motor (the GVA 40cm) which is quite a lot.

I have an aircon but would like to use it less. Trying to avoid pedestal fans because I sleep on a mattress on the floor and the wind doesn't reach! On most days I keep the fan on 24/7 so its power draw is a big concern.

any tips much appreciated

  • Bunnings have battery operated fans such as ryobi model. Whilst admit not the size you are looking for, it may be cheap to run and provide airflow you need!

    • battery operated fans … provide airflow you need!

      No.

      • Why?

  • If you can get a ceiling fan it would be much better. The air circulated much better than any fans.

    • i thought about ceiling fans, but unfortunately some space restrictions and the Vive means it's not a possibility :<
      thx for the suggestion though

  • +1

Have you tried pointing your pedestal fan right into the corner of the room near your mattress, slightly angled up or down at full speed (while it oscillates)?

I do this when I don't like the harshness blowing onto me directly when I'm trying to sleep and the air seems to circulate better around the room.

  • 100W is a ludicrous amount of input power for a 40cm fan.

Idiots buy things based on numbers like input power of course hence we have 1000W blenders.

    • I was told by the blender salesman that the input power of the blender I bought was 1,000,000mWatts!!! kick ass!!!!!!!!

  • Did find this model the "Omega Altise 40cm Chrome High Velocity Floor Fan
    OHV40C"
manufacturer's website says it is 60W motor. this fits my bill
