  • Field of view of the VR box posted earlier pissed me off, but there is a good response in this reddit: https://m.reddit.com/r/GoogleCardboard/comments/4clhwj/fov_q…

I am pretty happy with standard cardboard FOV at 90 degrees, so then technically at 95 this should be all right, however not sure if I am ready to jump until I read a few reviews. If anyone has one your opinions are appreciated

Edit: Had a closer look and visually it's almost identical to the VR Box. My experience with this is it clearly beats Cardboard for comfort, but the field of view is just not enough to be immersive (I am using a 5.2" phone) so it's probably only for watching normal movies and not fro any VR apps.

Also if it is the same unit it's not really a deal as the VR box is still available from others for less than this costs (AU$10.20) with a bluetooth remote http://www.dd4.com/goods/VR-BOX-2.0-Cardboard-VR-Virtual-Rea…

    • I've got a Virtoba X5 from one of previous deal. 120° FOV blow the VR Box away. Never look back anything less than 120°.

      • Do you happen to know what the difference is between the x3 and x5, or if the x3 is indeed the VR Box 2?

        • 95 vs 120 FOV according to Virtoba site. http://www.virtoba.com/products/virtoba-x5

        • @hotwinter: which means there's still a chance that this one is way over reporting the 95. The VR Box 2 feels like you are watching an old CRT TV from a few feet away

@Clear any chance of a deal on a better VR set?

  • I bought a phone from them which is dead on arrival. I received one email. However the product is still defective and I have not received a refund yet.
