    • If it's just been added to their ebay site usually it takes time to catch up to GG Site pricing that's my experience anyway, I would expect it to change though

  • Is there any alternative to paying by paypal? I set up the account but paypal wont process the payment because i don't have a history with them. Gave them my driver's licence and a bank statement but apparently it's not enough.

    • No, its an eBay/Paypal promo - must pay with PayPal.

Just purchased a Hisense 70" 70M7000UWG from jbhifi price matched 20%
    Used my gift cards ;-)

  • +1

for the KS8000 is there a difference between 55 and 65 inchers besides the size?

  • +1

decided to go the LG 60UH850t. a good compromise between price, size and quality. Samsung 8000/9000 65" just a little pricey, or had to go 55". Saw the Hisense 55" at JB and it looked really dull and washed out. Mind you it was only showing normal content, not 4k. The LG looked pretty good in store. With the extra $300 cashback will just be above $2000. And the last lot of tax invoices I got from Goodguys (ebay), had no mention of ebay. They give you a receipt when you go and pick up.

    • I called and spoke with them. Lady said it would have ebay sale on the receipt. Gingers crossed it doesnt for you

      • Well the stove , oven, microwave, rangehood, oracle, all bought from good guys ebay. All with normal receipts given on collection at the store. No mention of ebay on any of the invoices. Prob safer to pick up

        • Looks like the LG 850 gets a $50 energy rebate too! Makes it cheaper than the hisense possibly

  • Only thing I saw on my receipt was eBay delivery. It was also for the full price

    • Same, the last sale I bought, receipt was tgg, no ebay mentioned on the invoice

  • Hang on…does that make the LG 60UH652T 60" UHD HDR LED Smart 100Hz TV $1296 with cash back?

    • no cashback for this model

      • I just saw. Spoke too soon, thanks for the reply ;)

  • Why is there such a huge price difference between this and this?

  • Approximately how often do these 20%'s occur?

    • More than once a month? I have only started following ozbargain for a TV deal. I jumped into buying when the 15% sale started with GG. Only to find out ebay had a 20% off a week later sitewide on selected items and now another 20% off for GG this time around.

      • Yeah the 20% offs have really spiked, i guess it's for eofy. Great prices here though :)

  • So what's the diff between LG 55UH652T and samsung KS8000? Both are UHD, HDR, 100hz but the price diff is almost double?

    • The Samsung ha Quantum dot display with is said to be near OLED Pic Quality

    • The LG suffers from major DSE issues. The Samsung is SuperUHD (wider range of colours due to quantum dot) and superior quality.

      • is that on all LG TV or any specific Model/Batch known to be having DSE issues ? and how to one check for this issue ?

        • Pretty much all of the LCD.. even top of the range 950.

To test, search YouTube for the panning sky DSE test. Download it onto a USB and test in store. You will find that Samsung KS8000 is far less noticeable.

        • @nubzy:

          Found this - http://www.rtings.com/tv/tests/picture-quality/gray-uniformi…
that Link also has the image to test it, though I bought LG 55UH652T, last evening and yet to pickup the unit. wondering how to go about. will check if TGG allow to test it in store.

    • Samsung KS8000 is SUHD (not SuperUHD) is 200hz, has a 10bit panel capable of HDR10.

  • Which would be the best 40 inch tv to buy from this good guys sale?

    Panasonic vs LG vs Samsung

  • Any of these worth upgrading from viera plasma?

    • +1

If u like ur Viera like me, for the sole reason watching sport, then no. Personally, I still found that LCD/LED can't beat it (it's close though these days).
For basic TV viewing (mainly sport), it's still the best for me.
But we have no choice anyway, sadly, they don't make plasma anymore. And beside that, it has other advantages, like 4K, sharper picture etc, so not a bad thing.

  • Just wandering that Samsung and other LED TVs 55 inch range are no more slim these days!!!??
E.g. Samsung ES8000 55 inch LED depth was just 30 mm as compared to KS8000 40+ and 6000 series 63mm!!!!

    • Did the ES8000 have the one connect box? maybe the components were all kept externally like my JS9000. The KS8000 has all the components internally.

      • KS8000 has one connect box and it's damn slim and sexy 😲 I am loving it..thinking about wall mount to secure from accidental fall 🤔

  • Hi all - would TGG offer extended warranty for these purchase through ebay? Thanks.

    • +1

Yes they do, I just received call from the pick up store offering extended warranty and to add any accessories to the order.

      • Thank you MyLoginName

  • How do I claim velocity points if I go for the Samsung KS8000 55inch?

  • Which would be considered the better buy between these two:

    TH-50DX700A 50" @ $1036 vs TH-55DX600U 55" @ $1196.

    I'm upgrading from a 47" TV.

I just went to TGG during lunch today and checked out the 2 tellys: DX700 vs DX600…. my eyes preferred the DX700. Its best to go to the store to check it out. They didn't have the 55" for the DX700 but they had the 65"… I spent 10 to 15 minutes checking out the 4K demo. I was quite impressed. I spoke to the salesguy and he said that Panasonics are not the best as Smart TVs as their app are backdated and slow.

      • thanks for the feedback

just trying to choose the best value 55"-60" for $1500 or less

        • +1

I might go back and ask the TGG staff to play SD, Blu-ray and 4K content on the Panny DX700. I think I may be exceeding my budget at $1036 but nothing compared to my 8 yr old faithful Pioneer plasma which is used only for watching movies. And it was $5k back then! The OLEDs were nice too but the brightness was set high to impress the customers but I wasn't impressed by the blu-ray movie (despicable me) being played. I was standing about 1.0 metre away but couldn't move back any further due to tellys behind me. I could still see the 'shadow' and 'lag' of the hair of the characters. Anyway my opinion due to my budget.

          @rafsta:
As posted earlier, TGG sale guy also tried to convince me that the panasonic smart TV is outdated and referred me to Samsung Tizen. However, i heard a lot negatives about samsung Tizen on ozbargain when i asked around. I haven't played around with the two interfaces. Honestly speaking, firefox OS is very easy to navigate. While it might be old fashion to some, i really like the fact that i can click with the buttons on the remote to get to where i want without going through the entire menu. NOTE: my experience with TGG sale guy isn't great. I asked them some basic question and no one seemed to know the answer! I would trust review online than their words.

  • Might be another silly question to the experienced bargain hunters…Here comes:
I would like to buy the Samsung UA55KS8000W 55" SUHD HDR LED Smart 100Hz TV $1996
Would this TV most likely be cheaper than this price by Xmas time?
I am OK to wait in order to save some extra hundred/s dollars if possible…
    Please let me know
    Cheers

    • I doubt it. Cheap as chips with the coupon for the quality you are getting, and there is a 36,000 VP promo on at the moment too.

      • Agreed. Get it now and enjoy it now! Wont get much cheaper than this by xmas i dont reckon.

  • Please add the sony 75 8500d to the tv list.

    • I can't see it on their ebay site

  • wanna test these in store on Saturday. I wonder how soon will it be ready for pickup if I make the ebay purchase on sat itself?

  • @nubzy and @Stalker Thanks for your reply! I've taken the plunge and bought it. I think will worth the extra $700 of this Samsung KS8000 against the LG 652T. Cheers

    • Congrats! - although I can see someone doesn't agree with my advice. :D

My OLED55b6 arrived yesterday and is all set up. to say I am impressed by this TV is an understatement.

The blacks are magic and am very happy with it especially with 20% off

  • Might be a silly question buy will I be able to sell the velocity frequent flyer points in the classifies section? Is yes, how much would I get from the sale? Not planning on a holiday anytime soon and would rather have the $.

  • how do you input the code to get the 20% off? Do you click buy first and go from there or?

    • Yeah click buy and then on next page there will be a code spot to enter a code down the page

  • @jskf01 Add to Cart/ Buy then in order to input the voucher you must select Paypal as an option then to have you'll be able to fill the redemption code box…

  • +2

Picked up the LG 60UH850t yesterday from Ebay click and collect. Got an invoice from the lady at counter and it has NO ebay mentioned anywhere on it. Also it has the full price on it. So there should be no problems claiming the rebate from LG.

Overall pretty impressed with the TV. Probably could have squeezed a 65" in the room… Of course the blacks aren't OLED black but still not too bad at all. Have to put it through the paces when I have time

    • Hope you don't watch too much sports or play games with lots of movement and sky (e.g. GTA 5, racing games etc). And whatever you do don't go searching for the panning sky DSE test on youtube. The DSE was so distracting on our UH770T we had to return it and get a Samsung instead.

      • I play rpg and fps. Will be interesting to test halo tonight. Watched tarzan last night on it and no issues with any of the scenic shots. What a crap movie though

  • Decided to get the 55" KS8000. Seemed like too good of a deal to miss, and all the reviews on it sounded really good.
Thanks to everyone's comments on it helping to convince me.

We were previously using a Changhong CHL4243DC, so it should be quite the upgrade!

I bought the KS8000 and a Bosch washing machine though, so that was quite a lot of money gone in one hit unfortunately :/

    • Both should be good products though, and you would have got a decent saving all up!

  • Looking to upgrade my current Samsung which is flawless, it is a 55" and not sure if I should stay with it, or go 65".

I am going to hook up the XBox One S - So what is the difference between the 8000W and 9000W? (besides the $400 extra).

    • +1

I've read that there isn't much difference (certainly not worth the increased price) so you'd better off getting the 8000….(you're referring to the Samsung right?)

  • What you guys think about TGG offering Gold service for 3 years $182 with $60 credit each year for 3 years, has anyone considered with TV purchase?

I bought Samsung KS8000 as well and thinking if we need extended warranty or a waste of money, waiting for your day on it :)

    Thanks again OP 👍

  • +1

arrrgh 55 or 60'! wished the KS8000 came in 60inch

    • Agreed! Had to go for the 55" in the end because 65 would've been too big for my living room. TGG were very quick in processing the order. Got the pickup confirmation in 40 minutes and had picked up my TV within an hour of placing the order online.

      • I went with the 55 too and glad I did 65 would have been overkill!

  • I'm really torn between getting the Hisense M7000 65" or the Samsung KS800 55".

Both review really well, but i like the fact the Samsung meets the ultra premium HD standard…athough I wonder whether I'll be able to notice the difference.

I also haven't got a freeview-esque box to plug in and would be reliant in the short term of the free to air access via the TV. I feel that out of the box I will get on better with the Samsung OS.

But then the HiSense has the 3 Year manufacturer warranty.

I also keep thinking I could save some money and purchase a new camera lens if I get the 55" HiSense M7000.

    I just need to commit!

    • I would go with the 65 inch but maybe I will wait until better models (eg Sony X9300 or Samsung 8000) get cheaper….

    • If it's for a primary living area like lounge, or rumpus room, absolutely go 65" - you won't regret it. No one ever wishes they had bought a smaller TV.

55" is like the 40" from 3 years ago - ok for smaller rooms but in larger rooms you will wish you had bought larger.

Over the past 3.5yrs I've had a Sharp 70" and Samsung 75" (both 1080p, both cost under $3K new), and while good sizes, you become used to them quickly.

  • I snagged a Samsung UA65KS8000W! Thanks OP, great deal! And I will log the Velocity points tonight :-)

  • I have seen a few posts above mentioning price guarantee. To those who are interested, TGG doesn't do price guarantee with their own store. I phoned the store and the person on the phone told me that if the price is advertised on their online store, I can file the 30 days price guarantee online. However, the online department has declined my claim. Such a shame that they cant acknowledge their own price drop but other retailers.

  • I just collected my Panasonic DX700 telly from Good Guys Thomastown at 5pm today. When I unpacked it I noticed that the styrofoam board protecting the tv was broken in 3 pieces and the TV stands were just taped to the styrofoam. The packing didn't seem professional and it seemed like I bought a refurbished tv. I decided to set it up to check the tv for any marks or scratches. It was a breeze setting it up and the 4k is amazing when I tested with youtube 4k. But I expected the SD channels to be really bad- and it was bad. I'm going to check with eBay and TGG for this issue with photos. My advise to all is to please check if you get a brand new tv. Have a great weekend ;)

    • +1

I bought the same telly and, yes, the styrofoam APPEARED to be broken and was also in 3 pieces. However, all other packaging looked as you would expect if it had not been opened after leaving the factory. For what it's worth, my reception from SD channels is very sharp, and 4K picture is awesome!

      • Thanks ifonlyiwasyounger. I was asked to bring it back to replace it.

        • @rafsta: I can't find the previous post. Do you mind checking if you also get the tingling feeling around the metal frame for this model? It is a great TV except i am not sure what i am encountering is normal. TGG just told me to contact panasonic. They didn't want to have anything to do with it. :(

        • @koala9: Hi Koala9 -I've not experienced this and I've tried with 2 of the same tellys. The first one was returned as I was given a refurbished tv!. I'm going to try touching the metal frame again tonight. I'm happy with this telly for the HD and 4K contents. But SD channels are just average.

      • @ifonlyiwasyounger: could you please help me (see post to rafsta above) as well?

        • Koala9: I am not sure I understand what you mean by a "tingling feeling". If you are getting a tingling feeling when touching the metal frame then, no, I have not experienced this.

        • @ifonlyiwasyounger: Thanks. @rafsta: I am not sure if i got a defect TV. I read on the internet that it is quite common these days BUT it is strange that it doesn't happen to you both with the same model. I would have brought it back to GG except it seems stupid to send it back after paying for the delivery. TGG didn't want to try to fit in my sedan so changed to delivery on the spot.

  • Hi all - someone mentioned that he could get the 3D glasses for the Panasonic for $35? Please share the link. Thank you.

  • Any idea how much time Velocity points take to come into account, did it few days back but still didn't hear anything !!??
