Glenfiddich 18 Year Old Single Malt $99.99 @ Nick's ($146.99 @ Dan Murphy's)

120

Excellent Price for an 18yo…single malt. Unfortunately no discount if you buy a dozen of them.

Tasting notes: Deep gold colour. Moderate aromas include honey, clove and vanilla laced malt. On the palate, dried apricots and spice are augmented by soft peat, adding depth to the toasty malt. Plush mouth feel. Clean, dried fruit and spice finish. Rich and round, in the mainstream of Sherry influenced malts. 40% Alc./Vol.

**Pickup is free from Store: 10-12 Jackson Court, East Doncaster 3109, Victoria.
** Freight within Melbourne is free for orders over $200, or $10 otherwise.
**Freight prices to other areas are listed here

  • Hmm how much better than the 12 yr old is it , and sounds like Dan's would Price Match ( I work 200 metres from Dan's)

    • I only have a vague recollection of tasting one of these long time ago. I prefer the sherry cask flavoured whisky's so this one is up there, So is it good? Yes. Is it twice as good as a 12yo? no.

    • Grabbed this on duty free last year and didn't regret it! Lovely and smooth, wife and I loved it. Not worth the price at $150 though, but a great drop at $100. On a down note, going back to the more affordable 12 YO bottle sucks now I've had the 18 :)

    • It is delicious. Worth a try if you've not had it before…

Also combine Dan's price match with Amex cashback, if you have Amex!

      • how do you pricematch online?

        • +1

You'd have to go in store to get the price match, and then use your Amex card there too.

        • @zzyss:

better to click+collect for cashback then price-match at collection :)

        • @tonester: Cool. Didn't know you could do that.

  • Just drink something like tallmore dew 12yo for $50. It would crap all over this.

I think it's significantly better than the 12 yr. I've tried it once at a tasting session where we had the 12 and 18 side but side and the difference is quite remarkable.

  • Not a bad discount but not my preferred drop.

I prefer the more peaty drops from the islay region.
