Not as explosive as how you entered the rap scene.

  • +1

Not the best deal IMO also, but at least they don't automatically top up data when it goes over the limit like Optus. (I really don't understand how they get away with not having an option to disable automatic pop-up.. especially with their inaccurate metering system.)

    Which countries included for IDD?

  • -3

Is it really smart to go with Woolies considering their current situation?

    • +2

      Yes

      • And why's that? What if they go bust within a year?

        • if they go bust within a year then you'll be released from your contract with free phone maybe? I doubt they could "make you" pay out your contract without providing the service.

          And they won't go bust.

considering that ozbargainers represent a cross section of the more intelligent end of the general population (given that we like to save money!!), the number of people commenting that this phone will explode die that Samsung has really done damage to its existing brand with the note 7 saga. It's tainted the s7 brand too.

The missus's s7 is as close to a perfect phone we've ever had… Excellent camera, sd card, fast, good battery life, looks good, great screen.

Excellent deal for local stock, which makes Samsung warranty so much easier to deal with.

Remember to start contract payments with American express essentials to get complimentary smartphone screen insurance!

    Not Edge?

    • No?

  • -2

This price should be edge, not S7….

    • Why?

      • I guess that's why many people are asking now…

  • Man wish it were the edge

  • Can I use my existing number or do I get a new number?

    • Never mind.. Got the answer. Porting during activation..

  • Locked on my phn contract. otherwise would have gone for it…

Which countries are included the link on the selected countries give a pdf of all countries with rates . None is 0 .

    • Anyone figure this out yet? It's not clear which countries are included at all. The International Rates PDF is out of date. Also the flagfall is enormous IMO.

      • +2

I just talked to Woolworth's support and they confirmed that included free minutes apply to all countries in the PDF.

    Galaxy S7 plan over 24month = $1416
Woolworths $30 plan over 24month = $648 (using rewards card)
    Difference = $768

S7 with AU warranty is around $850 (mobicity current pricing)

You pay $82 less for the phone, get 1gb more data but you're LOCKED IN. For this to be a 155 upvote deal the data should at least be 6gb+ per month.

    • +3

Just a thought, but maybe some prefer to pay $29 per month for the phone, rather than $850 outright (as per your calculations above)?

      • -1

Yes some may prefer to pay $29 per month, but can you really consider this a bargain worthy of 155 upvotes, back in the days when xperia z1 was released the total cost of the plan only just exceeded the price of the phone, now that was a bargain, it didn't even get 155 upvotes.

        • I am paying $27 for the $30 3GB prepaid plan (with wow discount).
Additional 1 GB is valued $10 by Woolie. (and I personally value that $5)

          so the phone cost is ($59-$27-$5) x24 = $648
That's roughly 20 something % cheaper than mobicity.

Now you have to decide whether S7 is worth $650.

        • @coprocessor8087:
Valuing the extra 1gb as an extra $5 per month is quite a big ask. Would be more appropriate to interpolate their current prepaid plans to get the difference, which is around $2.50.

          Thus it becomes 24(59-27-2.5)= $708

So is it worth $708 when you have to invest into a fixed plan for 2 years in an environment where data consumption is constantly on the increase?

        • +1

          @spixder:
I was on $26 prepaid for 5gb over 45 days.
I'm now on a plan that has 7gb per month.
I use less than 5 gb per 45 days easily. and that has stood true for the past 2 years for me.
So once again plan or outright it depends on your situation.

Full disclosure - I am on a S7 plan with Optus for 7gb Data per month unlimited calls text etc for $56.50 per month.

        • @dasher86:
Now that (your current plan) is a bargain. Your previous prepaid plan (wollies I believe), I would also consider that a bargain as there's nothing that could match that then and now.

Now this, this is like the first day of the masters fire sale where ppl were flooding in to clear out the power tool section for a 10% discount.

  • Which colour do you guys prefer?

  • Can $59/month payments earn Woolies reward points?

  • +1

Can woolies staff get staff discount on this?

I ended up getting this phone with vodafone for $65 per month - 24 mths contract. Unlimited calls and 9gb.

    • Good luck with Vodafail… for 2 years…

equivalent to $35/pm plan on Aldimobile.
$25*24 = 600 for the phone, with 2 year contract. Much better plans will come out by then. Buy the phone outright :)

    Pass :)

    • Outright price is always cheaper and you have the freedom to change mobile/network when ever you like.

      • I agree with the article. I would not pay $80 on a mobile plan for an S7. But this is $59, still $20 cashrewards, and on Telstra network. This is my first plan in australia, the phone works out for $436, cheaper than the Xiami mi5 I was looking at

  • another great deal TA! thanks!!

    BEWARE:
WWS mobile customer service is hard to deal with and unprofessional.
I've signed up with their $59/month for S7 Edge Plan(Original $80 Plan with $21 per month discount) two months ago using the promotion code posted on OZbargain.
The order was successful and the code was still valid. However,I received two bills without any discount.
I tried to contact the customer service several times. They replied that since their system hadn't processed in time,
They couldn't honor the promotion for me. It's ridiculous that I have to be responsible for their mistake.
Now I've lodged a complaint to TIO and they'll discuss the matter further with WWSmobile.
Furthermore, when I received the new S7 Edge from them,I noticed the seal was already broken…

    • yeah I don't think im going to sign up with Woolies now, being stuck 24months with them sounds like hell
