Swann Communications Wireless Kinetic Doorchime $19.97 (Was $39.97) @ Bunnings Warehouse

170

Party like it's on sale for $19.97 with this Kinetic Doorchime! That's right, Kinetic, so you can throw away all those Eneloop batteries you have lying around.
Swann's site is selling them for $44.95 and Aldi have an ugly Delta brand for a whole $0.02 more expensive.

  • Just read reviews on product review. Not so flattering

    witchcraft !!!

    • I'll have to buzz Fiona Horne and see if its Halloween approved.

  • It is half prize . Bunnings have one of the best customer service as well

  • looks good just keep in mind the base needs to be plugged into a power outlet pic

    • +4

And the bases tend to fail every 2-5 years. The power circuitry in them is crap and they tend to fail with a bit of charring on the inside. Had two die on me, luckily no fire. Would not have those in my house again.

I've gone with the last wireless chimes that ALDI had. Pretty much the same thing, except base takes two AA batteries and the button unit takes a coin battery. The battery operated units are more convenient, you can position them anywhere.

Always best to steer clear of cheap 240v electronics, no matter what it is, especially when it's something plugged in 24/7 unsupervised.

  • I prefer the black Aldi unit.

    • Aldi one will stop working after a year, which is how i find electronic stuff at Aldi.

  • "No Batteries in Transmitter
Is powered by the person pushing the button"

Wonder how pressing the door bell button feels like ?
Maybe like those battery free torches - like pushing a spring or gear? Sounds quaint.

But seriously, the typical small button battery in normal wireless door bell transmitter can last years - prob longer than the electronics in this unit.

And judging by the size of the door bell button unit next to the plug in receiver unit, that's a huge door bell button!

    • Yea this is a gimmick. I haven'tcchanged the battery in my $10 kmart one in 5 years

    • its like a Seiko kinetic watch.

    • Went to Bunnings to check this out. Re the size, the height and width is not too bad although still a bit wider than a normal button cell transmitter. But the depth is way too deep. I estimate (cause it is in sealed packaging) that it is thicker than a typical front door.

    • The deluxe edition has a salesman option which instead of using the generated power to ring the bell, it zaps them.

  • +1

So if no body presses my bell it will go flat?. :(

    • +1

Don't worry, if it goes flat you just have to stand there for 10mins continuously pressing it. :P

    • +1

Yes. That's natural. But, mostly floppy than flat.

    • +1

give it a shake it will.. come good.

  • Bought one, not bad at all!
