Fastway Couriers Won't Deliver an eBay Item I Bought

I bought a new LNBF for a satellite install I want to do at my place on ebay. Fastway couriers phoned me to say they have it, but can't deliver it to me because they don't have a courier that goes near where I live. They want me to drive 100+ Km to collect it from them. I asked them to put it in the post and they refused.

What are my options do I not pick it up and make a paypal / credit card charge back claim; stop being a b***h and accept it or contact the seller and see if they can send one thru Aussie post or one of the other couriers who do actually deliver.

I'd contact the seller and say you haven't received the item. Let them chase it up to find out why it's stuck in transit.

Either you or the seller has paid for courier delivery to your address. If they didn't deliver to your address they wouldn't have picked the item up.

Fastway couriers have a terrible reputation. I had the same thing happen to me and had to drive to their depot to pick up a parcel I had paid to be posted to me. When I got to the depot there was graffiti on the wall saying "give me my money back you bastards".

Go with the advice from BensonP above.

    1. Don't make it the sellers fault (though I would never use Fastway) it is Fastway who created the problem.

    2. Contact the seller for help. Explain the problem and that Fastway want you to travel an unreasonable distance to pick up.
Ask them what can be done to sort it out.

I did have a friend with a similar issue with a courier not that long ago.
The courier finally agreed to hand the package over to Australia Post to carry out delivery. I don't think it was Fastway though, they're not known for co-operating.

  • I find it hilarious that Fastway became one of ebay's "preferred" carriers and were trying to get sellers to sign up with them.
Considering how Fastway conduct themselves and refuse to deliver to so many locations……but I guess they are similar in attitude to ebay.

You must have a very large farmyard. 😄

  • Holy shit this thread is tearing Fastway a new one.
I JUST CHOSE FASTWAY AS THE SHIPPING OPTION :(

    Too much hassle for customers

    Went back to Australia post

    Problem solved

I know right. They used to charge us ~$8.50 to post packages to a region and later upped it to ~$30ish. Auspost are less than half of that.

  • Fastway courier are just terrible.
I am not sure how they are still in business!…

  • It depends on how important getting the item is to you? Not important, no rush? Get the seller to chase it up.
Need it asap? Take a leisurely drive to pick it up.

  • I use to work for fastway, and they should deliver AUS wide, if they didn't go there they sent it with a courier that did or AUS post, the stupid courier shouldn't of picked it up unless it had a AUS wide fastway coupon to send with.
Also they seller should of checked .

  • Yep, they hand our parcels over to Toll to deliver to our house. They shouldn't accept the job when they know they won't deliver.

  • Fastways: They wouldn't drop off my item because "I live outside of the 60-zone of town" even though I am 4km from town and see their van drive past all the time. I asked them why they had my item if they don't deliver to my address. They said I either had to collect it from them or they would send it back to the seller. I said send it back then. Contacted the seller to say I never got the item. Eventually got it at post office. Wasted my money on courier postage. Spread the word!

  • Fastway are the worst. Even in the inner city they rang and insisted that i come and meet their van in the next suburb. I argued and they then the drove past and dumped it outside our apartment building.

  • Fastway are the worst….. they do not want to apologize for dropping my parcel near the gate of the building that I shared with hundreds of people……

  • Was supposed to received parcel after 1 day, a service I paid for. We're 4 business days in now and they just keep saying the same thing, "It should be out tomorrow, but we'll email the team urgently to have someone drop it off". It's literally their job and they can't do it. I get an email every morning with them telling me it's in their warehouse. I will give them another day and then look at reporting them to Office of Fair Trading. Having read the google comments i'm amazed they're still in business.
