Kogan 18V Stick Vacuum $119, Save $28 (Free Delivery) @ Dick Smith

50

Time to give back to the ozbargain community, first deal I'm posting. For those that missed out on the Black & Decker 21V stick vacuum for $147 shipped from Amazon UK (self included), Kogan's Dick Smith store is currently offering the Kogan 18V stick vacuum with a host of accessories for $119 delivered. The exact same product is showing as $147 on kogan.com.au

I'm sure this will be nowhere in the same league as the B&D or a Dyson but for someone who wants a cordless stick vacuum for quick cleaning in between the weekly use of their mains powered vacuum, this might be of interest.

Buy the Dyson on that Bing Lee deal instead.

  • Can anyone confirm if this sucks?

    • Most vacuums do.

  • What happens when you need a new battery? Kogan will have moved onto the next cheapest piece of rubbish by this stage and you'll be left with landfill.

  • This isn't a great vacuum cleaner. I bought one during a sale. It's main issue is that the filter clogs up very quickly and suction then drops to nothing. The dust container is very small but in reality due to the filter blocking there's only a maybe a tenth of it full before you need to go clean the filter. Also the locking mechanisms for the attachments is weak so that if you're using the powered head it sometimes detaches while vacuuming. Other then these main issues it works fairly well with decent suction (when clean) and the battery seems to last a decent amount of time, however I haven't timed it. I now only use it for a quick cleanup with the extension tube and crevice tool and in this mode it works well enough, again until it blocks up. I would not recommend it.

  • I own one and agree that it's quickly clogged, I still use it with the head plugged into the main body for quick touch-up jobs. Battery non replaceable, Last time I looked it was $89 so Kogan seen to have fattened up their margins. $147 is ridiculous!
