  • Some flights from Adelaide to Beijing return from $431.

OK This is getting ridiculous. Syd-Perth is, what, $400 return?

    • I wish, I recently paid $2200 for three return tickets (22nd December - 3rd January).

Just paid 600 to fly to Canberra fml

    These prices are WTF.

  • One way to KL is sometimes $179 like this deal to PEK via KL but mostly $199…

They've also become sneakier/complicated with their pricing for return trips. It varies the departure and return leg prices depending on the combination like they're a real airline.

  • +1

    that is cheap.

  • I Want That Fxxx.

  • these prices are bloody insane
good to be a pensioner nowadays
take off anytime and can return to beijing fr melb for $309!

I am getting $269 bookings via OPODO return from Melbourne - should I pull the trigger …..

  • Hi guys does any one know if you have to use all of air asia's 'fly through' flights ?

Can I stop at one of the legs and just take off on a different holiday ?

    • +1

One way booking should be fine but if you book return I'm not so sure as they may cancel your flight if you don't show for the first leg.

Hi yes u can. I did it earlier this year. I had booked melb to thailand return on a fly through flight. I then discovered my girlfriends best friend was in holiday in singapore. Thought i would suprise my girlfriend with a visit (friend lives uk)

So i purchased an airasia flight kl to singapore.

When i checked in at melbourne i asked luggage to be checked through to kl only as i wanted Access to them. They did it got to kl and jumped on a flight to sing instead of Thailand abandoned it didnt inform them. No problem the return kl to melbourne worked… i had checked this with their customer service in advance just to make sure it be ok (the concept not the exact flights)

      • Nice, thanks.

      • This is revolutionary. But did they guarantee you wouldn't be double booked or say you'll probably be fine?

        • I checked it twice via online chat. I dont remember the exact wording ill see if i can find it as i think i screen shooted for reassurance. They are a point to point airline and all the flights are treated seperately.

  • Crazy Cheap.

Remember to get your visa application in early….. 10 business days for mail in applications and, 4 business days for applications in person. The Sydney office is booked one week in advance (yes you need to make an appointment to submit).

You can get a 72hour transit visa for free on arrival, but that is a short holiday!

    • Could I go to Jinshanling if I got a 72 hour transit at Beijing ?

      • +1

Yes. I was there last year…..you just need to pass back through immigration within 72 hours.

        • Sweet, thanks.

I just read also that the 72 hours starts at midnight after you arrive, so theoretically you could stay for 95 hours 59 mins.

        • @Tasmaniac:

Starting from immigration? So if my flight arrives at say 11pm I could lock myself in the bathroom and wait until midnight to score another day?

        • +1

@Tasmaniac: airport is well connected to the city. Short train ride. One day for great wall is enough. Another day seeing the city. Did Beijing in 3 days a couple of months ago.

        • @peterpeterpumpkin:

Yes, only if you have carry-on, or else your bag will be doing a circling the conveyor belt for a very long time!

        • @peterpeterpumpkin: I presume so, they might check your itinerary though to confirm the return flight ?. I'd call Beijing immigration first just to confirm.

  • I've seen cheaper imo. Got a direct flight from Sydney to Beijing for $99 from an independent travel agent

    • How did you get home?

  • How come PEK-MEL is always cheaper than PEK-PER? I don't get it..

PER-KUL is always cheaper than MEL-KUL, the next leg being the same, but if you put two legs together, there is magic.
