Just got back from Target Chatswood. They had 1 left for X360 and PS4, a couple of PS3 versions and 4 or 5 for the Wii U. They are open until 7pm tonight.

Rang my local store (Mornington) and the bloke says they had plenty. Of Wii U and PS4 ones anyway.
So that's cool. Providing the price doesn't change by the morning I'll get one then. 25 bucks is about right for a dead end game with a lot of the content online only and therefore will disappear some day.

Picked up a ps4 version at Target Newton SA this afternoon. Initially called up and the staff member thought they had sold out, but then came back and said they had "quite a few" left and was happy to put one aside for me.
At 4pm today, there were

I have forgotten to mention about it. When I rocked up at the counter she said she got few calls today asking about availability, but unfortunately she couldn't find it on the shelves and I showed her where to find, so now to knows. Give them a call tomorrow morning to reserve it.
Staff in charge of entertainment area does not know where the stocks and and up straight telling customer no stock without checking their system for stock level is job sacking customer service. What I will do is call them when I am in store next time and I will check stocks before I call. Whoever answers the phone lies about no stock I will walk straight to complain to the store manager.
@wtfnodeal: tbh I think it was genuine mistake from her side, she was surprised when I showed up with the xbox one version and I asked about PS4 availability and she said Fremantle had stock and she immediately called them to check availability.

I called Perth store later the gent nicely asked me to hold the phone and checked the stocks at the back before telling me there was plenty of stocks and should last until tomorrow morning.

happened to me with the battlefield JB hifi code. Saw a guy in comments ask for someones copy of the receipt. i commented that i missed out and he inboxed me saying he was selling for $50. Even if i still wanted the code, i would just buy it for RRP instead of encouraging the behaviour. Hope no one took him up on his offer but who knows.

the dongle is usb ….. can't see them not using same dongle and just make the software different.
Found out from the website dongle isn't compatible within different consoles although guitars are identical.

Just called Target (Broadway) earlier at about 8:30am. They've advised they only have the versions for PS3 and Wii U in store.
We have the whole set of band controllers for PS3.

Yep. Rang one store and told them I'd been given an unopened copy of the game + controller on Xbox One, then tried a second store and told them I had a copy for Wii-U. Both offered $24.
that's a good deal to only loose $1 on a game.

Called up Target at Browns Plains in the Grand Plaza shopping centre. The guy said they had plenty of stock on all platforms, I went and bought 2 for PS4, figures 50 bucks is a damn great price to pay to be able to play multiplayer with my wife, yeah I end up with 2 copies of the game but the value is in the guitars!

They took it off the website but can confirm in store price is $25, just find a store with your desired console stock.
It's still valid, was told it's no longer online on some platforms though as it's now a discontinued product

The Guitar Hero Live console controller will work with any console. The wireless USB receivers, however, are designed to work specifically with one console and cannot be transferred to another. You can tell what system the USB receiver is designed for by the color of the button on the end of the receiver:
Gray button: PlayStation 3 or WiiU
Blue button: PlayStation 4
Green button: Xbox 360
Black button: Xbox One
And reading further it states you need 1 dongle per guitar..
wow what a dumb design…… to make 4 different dongles on a production line. thought it would just be different software,
guitars are identical but dongles aren't. you can use the guitars on any consoles but if you want to use PS3 dongles on PS4 console then it is not going to work.
so if i want to have 2 guitars for multiplayer, would it be cheaper to buy 2 of these and just sell of the copy of the game?
Yes that's correct but it will be difficult selling the game as most people who have the guitars will have bought the bundle which includes the game.
