  • Great price!

  • My goodness! We paid $88 for it pre-owned about six weeks ago, and that was down from $160.

    • +2

I paid $35 from Microsoft store using $25 vourcher, I think I had a great bargain. Now I feel compulsary to buy another one.

  • Anyone know if I can walk into a shop and buy it, or do I HAVE to pay for click and collect and wait? Is there a way to check stock at my nearby stores?

    • Call the stores up?

      • I ended up adding CoD: Ghosts for PS3 for 5$ and just doing Click and Collet.

        Good deal OP, thanks!

  • +4

    Haha, imagine pricematching at Ebgames

    • $149.95 still at eb

    • +1

what is the difference between buying it for 25$ from target and 25$ from ebgames?

      • +3

EB Games have their points system (known as Carrots there).

That, and 7-day no-hassle returns policy.

        • +5

          Haha "no-hassle"

        • :)

        • +2

          @Dr Cheapo:

It really is, thankfully. You can open and play the game for a week and return it. To the store, "This game is utter rubbish! It has no Metallica!" is a valid reason to return it.

        • -4

@silverrat23: I used to abuse that (and still do sometimes) to get easy achievements. Get the game, full G it then return it. You do need the EB World card though as they dock points from it but who gives a shit?

        • +1

          @silverrat23:

          Is this still true?

When I looked into EB I was seeing that if a game comes with a redeemable code inside the case then they won't accept a return regardless of whether or not you use the code.

        • @AngryAlfred:

Ah, I knew I forgot something. Yes, you are correct in that any game with DLC cannot be returned as standard. I imagine if there's no DLC card included, you're free to return the game as you please.

In the case of Guitar Hero Live, it never came with any DLC card.

        • -6

@AngryAlfred: Got myself 2 free copies of Modern Warfare Remastered just a few weeks ago using the return thing. Me and the missus both got the plat, then I gave the other code away to a guy on PSNProfiles.

      • +2

Eb just will say no. Because its "below cost".

        • +3

It depends on what item and the price difference, along with the cashiers' mood (it shouldn't, but it does).

When I bought Guitar Hero Live in June, most shops were still selling theirs at $80 (EB had theirs for $120 I think), whereas Kmart had it for $49. I pricematched Kmart's price at EB with no problems.

However, I tried to pricematch a Lego Dimensions fun pack (one figure and one vehicle) for $5 from Kmart and EB said no.

        • +1

          @silverrat23:

I think it also depends on which particular store you go to. I remember I went in to price-match a game listed at $99.95 at EB for $49.95 that Big W had, but they said that the price difference was too much. I went to a different EB games store nearby and they price-matched it without any issues.

    • jb wouldn't price match as said was below cost….. went in with the xbox one version and receipt as also want ps4 version. eb said clearance item so no price match…….. but then eb also trying to sell sky landers superchargers for $79 ? same price as the new skylanders.

An amazing deal, couldn't pass it up!

If you're after something to complete the rock star look and make up your $5 for free C&C, you can't go past one of these bad boys! (Unless you have a big head, but you know what they say about those with big heads..) Link: https://www.target.com.au/p/trilby-straw-hat/59416661

  • +1

Can you do 2 player with this game? Wondering if I should get 2 of.

    • Yes you can. I was thinking of buying another copy just for the guitar, but the problem is that we'd end up with a spare copy we can't sell.

      • +4

$50 for one game and 2 guitars sounds like a good deal to me tho!

      • Just trade the game in at ebgames as preowned??

        • They won't as the game is unplayable without the guitar.

        • @silverrat23:

They're selling copies of past GH games without the guitars…

        • @Spackbace:

That's because any older Guitar Hero guitar will work with any older Guitar Hero game. With this one, it's back to square one as only one controller will work with one game (Guitar Hero Live).

    • yes so i bought one for ps4 and one for xbox 1 so we have 2 guitars and are covered if used at friends house on either platform.

  • What a deal, had to purchase. Not sure I even want it but could just sell it later of I don't use it.

  • +1

Anyone got a good 4$ish item to get free click and collect?

  • Very good price but will pass. 1.25% cashback @ cashrewards too

  • Great Deal, thanks just ordered one

  • Gah damnit, I just got this last friday from target :/

    • +1

Still got the receipt? Buy this new one, return it with the old receipt.

  • anyone know if you need to have online/paid subscription to play? the "live" in the name worries me

    • No you don't.

    • +1

No, you don't. It'll work fine, the only thing you'd need Gold/PS+ for is to play with other people online.

    • +1

Actually, the "Live" portion of the game is its story mode, which is played offline. The "GHTV" portion is the online-only mode which is basically MTV with guitar tracks laid over. Thankfully, that does not require any subscriptions at all.

      In short, no.

  • +1

    Thanks OP
I dont have an Xbox One yet, but i have a game.
Hopefully Santa hears my requests :)

  • i dont own a console but im still thinking of buying one. what would a true ozbargainer do in this case?

    • +3

      Buy both.

      • +1

You mean all five, right? :P

    • +1

      buy now, think later!

    • +1

Cemu, a Wii U emulator, is playable now…

  • is there a chance click and collect orders get cancelled?

    • Not in this case, it isn't a pricing error, just a clearance line. Target have been slowly declining their game sections for months now.

    • I can't see why they would. It's not a price error.
      Edit: Beaten by a second!

      • +1

Gotta be quick around here! :p

      • +6

        Gotta be quick around here.

        Edit: damnit

      • I meant in regards to stock, just nervous cause I recently had a c & c order cancelled by EB cause the stock was wrong

        • +1

Nah, the site knows pretty well what stock is available for its own store. Plus in the case they oversell which has happened, they've called every store around to find stock to get sent to fulfil the order.

  • Bought mine in store, and was going to post this deal haha. Xbox one and ps4 in stock at hornsby.

  • Does the guitar work on older Rock Band/Guitar Hero games?

    • +1

No, the button layout is different (has 6, 3x3) and therefore incompatible with everything but Guitar Hero Live.

    • +1

      No.

Guitar Hero Live is basically starting fresh with this one. No older controller or DLC is compatible with this one.

  • +2

I'm Rock Band all the way. Huge catalogue of DLC so you can mould the game to your music style, plus importing all the old songs from other games. Plus all controllers backwards compatible.

If you're new to the franchise, might be a bit of fun but note the guitar has a different layout and is unlikely to be getting any expansions or new content so for longetivity I'd suggest Rock Band 4, for "it's $25 of fun for a while", amazing deal!

(I'd upvote this deal if I wasn't a rep, I'm just informing people of options!)

    • If you're wanting Rock Band 4 for the Xbox One WITH the adapter, be prepared to take out another mortgage for this one. No local store will stock it and the cheapest anywhere is ~$100 from ebay.

      • Dang, I had no idea since I play on PS4. If you're super lucky, some EB Games have old Rock Band 4 stock for like $120 for the whole band. But it's not online, and stock is very low I guess. Sorry XBOX players!

        • Yeah, we get screwed big time. Haven't seen an actual Xbox One copy in person!

        • +2

$120 is getting to the price of rock smith and used real guitar off ebay.

      • Just recently, EB Games had the Rock Band 4 guitar bundles for $79

  • One ps4 one left at greensbrough Vic. I don't know about the stock for other consoles.

  • +1

Two for every console in stock at Mawson Lakes (SA)

    • I didn't even realise there was a Target a ML. I was always going to TTP :) Thanks for the tip.

      • One at Newton SA also which is easy to forget is there :)

  • +1

None left in Target Miranda. Big W did price match for me when asked. There was a few copies available for all platforms except Xbox One.

  • got 2.xbox 1 click and collect

  • -2

    Get 4 delivered for $79

Use code "TARGET20" TO GET $20 OFF $99

    • It's ineligible for use with entertainment products… Doesn't work when I input it.

      • sorry. didn't try myself. just saw the banner

    • -4

Yes, because you really need 4, don't you? Thanks for ensuring the rest of us won't get it just because you want to be a scab and re-sell them on ebay for twice the price.

      • I dont think you read what i wrote. "I didnt try it myself. Just saw the banner". I dont know what you understood by that.

Also some ppl are genuine buyers. They might want to stock up for Christmas as they will make a good present

  • Thanks so much OP. All the niece and nephews are going to be so happy this Christmas.

  • Got last one at Eastland

  • +2

    None at Southland.

  • +1

PS4 version currently showing as "Low stock online" and not showing on their eBay page too. I hope they re-stock this.

*EDIT: And now the PS4 version is gone from the website. Most likely out of stock.

  • +2

Kotara (NSW) has stock on a few platforms; mainly PS4, Xbox One and Wii U (iirc).

    • Kotara had one PS4 and one Wii U copy, but no Xbone copies left tonight. I went to Glendale and picked up two of the last three, so there was still one left.

      • +1

Yeah, I guess they sold quicker than I thought.

      • +1

        That was fast.

        After I picked up 1 for PS4 around 4pm, there were still 4 left for XB1, 3 or 4 for Wii U and 3 for PS4.

  • Had it in my cart but didn't check out quick enough.
    Regretful.

    • Me too. Says PS4 out of stock online

  • Damn, why does the stuff I want always pop up while I'm playing golf :P PS4 version seems to be gone.

  • Got ps4 one. Thanks OP

    • Only showing xbox 360 and wii u versions now.

  • Bought 360 at Castle Hills, they have 360, WiiU PS3 and Xbox one no PS4.

  • Picked this up today too - Target Mawson Lakes only had PS3 & X360 left.

    • Thanks for the heads up.

  • Was looking just yesterday for one and neatly paid $80. Thanks for sharing

  • Is it a good deal - yes
    Would I play it no

  • +2

EB Games in Epping matched the price of Target. They had a stack and said were having trouble getting rid of them so were happy to sell it for the same price.

  • Looks like they're all gone now across all platforms. Doesn't show up with anything on both Target's website and their eBay store.

  • Parramatta Westfield apparently still has some Wii U stock. All other platforms sold out.

  • 5 WiiU and 2 Xbox 360 remaining in store in Toowoomba. Standing in front of them now (with 2 under my arm for me).

  • Plenty of xbox one/360 and ps3 ones in Frankston Bayside Shopping centre. No ps4 left

  • Few left at Tea Tree Plaza (SA). Saw wii u, 360 and Xbox One

  • Is this better than Rocksmith?
