I've always wanted something like this but you have to drill holes in your kitchen wall to install it. My splash backs are granite. Are there alternatives?

  You can get free standing versions. If you silicon a wide bar version on it should hold 4 knives no worries. If not consider a fixture to the under side of a Cabernet that hangs down so you can attatck it to that.
