          Brewery: Under licence

          real or fake?

          @jv:
          Unfortunately, the bottled Asahi here isn't brewed in Japan only the large 500ml cans are and there is significant difference in taste/quality.

        • @t0ast:

          I was referring to the 'licence'…

        • @t0ast:

          Yep. Bought the chinese brewed stuff once, never again.

      Is there something wrong with that?

        nothing wrong with freedom of choice not to buy…

        If you're asking, then to your tastebuds… no.

        Come on guys he might be new to beer. Asahi is best brewed in Japan. While it is —bearable— when brewed in other countries (prefer it over Aussie crap eg Carlton, VB, Melb Bitter), the one brewed in Japan is far superior. They keep most of their Japanese brew in Japan, only a small amount gets exported and the last time they were on sale at ALDI everyone stocked up.

        • That made me chuckle.
          While I was already aware that the Japanese-brewed Asahi was better in terms of taste, I still don't see why this isn't a deal because it was brewed elsewhere.

        • and also made in japan asahi on can 500ml, last time there were on sale at Dan M as well

          @tranqme:

          Different ingredients (manufactured in different environments), different taste.

        • @Putnum:

          That still doesn't answer the question.

          @tranqme:

          That still doesn't answer the question.

          Don't you mean?

        • @tranqme: oh, sorry. A case of Chinese asahi many would value at $40 and is therefore not a bargain?

        • @Putnum:

          Show me the rule that states every deal posted here has to be a bargain.

        • +1

          @tranqme:

          It's literally the first simple rule:

          Please check the deal posting guidelines before posting. Some simple rules:

          Only good bargains, please. Always check price comparison sites and all the fine print.

          @tranqme: You can post it on Ozmaybebargain.com.au

        • Are you referring me to being new to beer?

        • @Putnum:

          Right, and its currently the cheapest anywhere, which is what this site is all about right, informing others of deals and saving money?

        • @tranqme:

          Cheapest is not synonymous with bargain.

        • @Putnum:

          Again, I think you're misunderstanding the rule that you posted above.

    • Why does the thought of that send a shudder through my body🤔

  • Only buy Asahi in a can
