Must resist and wait for ps4 pro!

  • Is PS4 HDR like the Xbox?

    • Yes with the latest update. But there are no games with HDR support right now

  • wait for PS4 pro…..

I wish they would just reduce the cost further and remove Stan.

  • is XBOX 1 S "better" than PS4 Pro?

    • +1

      no.

      • ok, so I'm not really concerned about the piss poor upgrade that is in the PS4 Pro, I'm only ever going to use a 1080P TV (for gaming),
so will the Current PS4 be good enuf? (to pissed off at EB Games the other day, "PS4 Pro $349……………..yeah, if i have a ps4 trade in!"
yet XBOX 1 S is $399 all day? hmmmmm

        • if you not gonna have 4k hdr tv then you wont find any difference between any old PS4/slim PS4 and PS4 pro. check out reviews on many websites - everyone suggests that dont buy PS4 Po if you dont have 4k TV.

Many games on the base PS4 and Xbox do not run at a full native 1080p resolution e.g. Battlefield 1 is ~900p on PS4 and ~720p on Xbox (both variable).
So if that's important to you then the PS4 Pro/Scorpio might be worth it, however in saying that there's no guarantee games that release on both the PS4/PS4Pro or Xbox/Scorpio will have different resolution outputs, and you could get stuck with the lowest common denominator anyway.

Xbox One S is the same hardware as the stock Xbox just smaller with a 4K Bluray player.

You pay for the additional quality that PS4 has. e.g. Battlefield 1 has 25% more resolution on PS4 version (900p vs 720p) but the game cost the same in the shops, so you pay more for the machine but you save on the games.

My analysis is that if you want to get a lot of games PS4 is more value if you only play a few games than go with Xbox for it's initial savings.

    • Xbox One S isn't even the upgraded Xbox, it's a slightly improved slimline revision, the Project Scorpio machine thing is the upgraded Xbox One and it comes out in like 2017 or 18 or something.

Better off with target for an extra $20 get MX game

  • good price for GTA V isn't it? Im about to buy one.

    • If you don't need it new, second-hand shops have it for $20-30. I got it second-hand, it was an absolute blast, would be worth it for $100 as far as I'm concerned.

      • Where did you get one?

        • Just finished writing this below and remembered I was talking PS3, so apologies. The PS4 GTA V prices were $40-$50.

(Got lucky because I bought COD Ghosts for $8 from Cash Converters here in Perth, and when I opened it up there was a GTA V disc stuck in behind the booklet, so go figure. However there are two second-hand stores I check out in Midland, Perth- Cash Converters and Cash Generator, and for the last year or so $35 is the highest I have seen, and a few weeks ago when I was at Cash Generator they had two copies for $25.)
