Yep. Pre-ordered from Amazon with intent to cancel.
Amazon was showing me an $8 off code for both versions of Pokemon specifically, so it ended up being only $77.
And I’ll actually get it on release day, while Target kept saying it would be after the weekend, so that’s pretty good for only $2 more.
How you get this code ?
It's showing on the product page. Save $8 promo code: 8OFF60TOYNP
@lasterato: Code might be targeted thats why its showing on phoxfiyah's and my product page. Whoever downvoted is so rude as I was trying to provide info to a question (if it doesnt work its not my fault).
I wonder if this game will be good or a trainwreck like Scarlet & Violet? Palworld was so much better.
I think that was largely due to the Nintendo Switch GPU being 6 years too old for it.
there were plenty of better looking games that ran way better on Switch hardware. It is fully on gamefreak and their awful engine/optimisation.
And all of those games that ran better had graphical features cut from the games. It's both, but I'm putting it mostly on the hardware. Link's Awakening suffered from severe framerate drops and graphics are basic and cartoony.
@Ryven: Cutesy, sure. But there were a lot of polygons to make everything look round. But yes, frame rates were VERY surprising. You'd think Nintendo would have seen that and fixed it somehow.
@Ryven: If Xenoblade can look the way it did on Switch 1 then Pokemon doesnt have any excuses. Gamefreak are lazy and content with putting out anything because they know it will still sell well.
ZA takes place ENTIRELY within 1 city.
Have a quick gameplay look on YouTube, very disappointing.Going to wager it'll be a trainwreck. It looks like instead of hiring more competent developers, they've just stripped back the visuals even further and made it less ambitious by setting it in a single, lifeless city. I mean, it's not like they're the world's most valuable franchise or anything, so they could afford to spend any money on optimization. Look at the buildings vs previous games and you'll see how much they've simplified the geometry and the visuals on the Switch 2 even look poor. There is better looking games on the Switch 1 and 2 already.
Game Freaks do not like working in a big team. I remember this from an interview
They are in a terrible situation to release yearly but they choose to not hire so that's on them.
But people choose to keep buying and they keep getting record sales. I wouldn't change a thing if I was in charge.
Will wait for review and pay more if it's worth it
I know it keeps making money which is the problem. It's sad that the creators of this beloved franchise don't care about the quality of what they're outputting and they're clearly out of their depth from a technical perspective. I honestly thought after the disastrous PR from the previous game that they'd actually put some care but it seems like they've technically scaled everything back to match their level of technical competence as there's no excuse that Switch 1 games look and run so poorly as the previous game - particularly given the money they have at their disposal.
Wonder if target will do a launch week deal?
I suspect that $85 is their launch price. Other retailers selling for $99/$109.
I pre-ordered the game but still haven't bought Switch 2 yet lol
damn it, ordered with Target already…
Go check out the reviews for this game — the visuals and animations are super lazy, the story is cliché, and it’s clearly just trying to cash in on nostalgia. I’m a Pokémon fan myself, but I’m skipping this one.
I only got my Switch OLED a couple of years ago. I'm not into Pokemon, but if I were to play one, which would you recommend?
Legends Arceus, ironically the prior installment in the Legends series. Graphics are not amazing, but the art style really makes you not care about graphics. I like that it was opinionated and went for a more 2.5D ish style, whereas Legends ZA doesn't seem as visually interesting.
This game looks so boring and this is coming from a Pokémon fan
Agree. Seems like they've simplified things to make it easier to run and appears to be a regression from both Arceus and the previous mainline games.
I’m trying very hard to convince myself to buy it but it’s not working
can anyone actually select Payto on checkout? Seems like it doesn't work for preorders?
Not sure if anyone noticed this came out today…I signed up to a Big W $10 newsletter and added some lollies to make it $75. Seems to be only sold by Big W:
$69 - https://www.bigw.com.au/product/snoopy-the-great-mystery-clu…
There’s also a Joe Cool DLC for $20 which looks pretty cool. 😎
Just tried to order and stack with the shopback $10 bonus cashback with $100 purchase. However, the price went back up to $99 after 8pm AEDT. Contacted customer service and emailed them my screenshot from 7:40pm AEDT and they said they would honour the difference after delivery as Amazon credit.
is this any good? or will it be? anything like the old poke games?
Just play the older Pokemon Games.
Legends Z-A is quite different to the ones you used to play.
Oof lucky I grabbed this for $75 from Amazon due to a $10 discount at the time. Didn't think Amazon would raise the price back to $99. Amazon almost on par with EB Games pricing.
Still $10 cheaper if you sign up for Targets newsletter
