174 AUD delivered from Amazon UK. I don't think spending 299 on the toothbrush at harvey to get 100 bucks back is worth it when it comes down to same price as amazon. Rather spend on something else that they are not selling at ripoff rrp.

      • Would wait for Amazon sale before Xmas :)

OMG! that is so cheap!!!!!!!! just bought one for my wife, as we quarreled yesterday !

        • Lol happy wife happy life right :)

        • @Spackbace: Indeed! I am so regre…why I quarrel with her…now i have to devote all my saving for my lovely previous adorable PS4 pro….and buy a gift for her…

          @Herre:

If I was your wife, I would be offended to be given a TOOTHBRUSH as a peace offering.

Woman's logic = "So, you think I don't look after myself, and have bad breath?".

Anyway, your gift is about as romantic as a toaster.

@llama: I agree. Next time better to go for a matching iron and ironing-board set.

      • I was going to be that guy who can't understand why people think that colour is Pink when it's definitely purple, then… i saw the different options :/

    • Local warranty would be good, as well as having a charging plug that doesn't need an adapter. You get the money back pretty quick too.

      • how do you "get the money back pretty quick"? it is a bit entertaining.

        • Amex have tended to credit me within the week, if not within two business days.

  • What if the item is returned (unopened) for a full refund once the cashback is received on the AMEX card? Does the cashback get reversed and also keen to know if the store card of $30 needs to be returned.

    • +1

If the refund goes back onto the card you used the terms and conditions normally state you will also lose the cash back. your millage may vary on this.

    hows this a deal?
you are paying retail + $2……………………………………

    • Maths fail.

Hows about this - post the $100 Amex cashback as a deal (seems to have been done) and everybody quit posting over priced things that only become a bargain because of that very targeted cash back?

People that have an Amex can surely work out for themselves how to do normal priced shopping and claim a cash back - jeez!

$299 for that toothbrush IS NOT a bargain!

  • Can the glass cup charge other Sonicare handles?

One design problem I have with the Diamondclean is that it only has one button. Unless I'm wrong, to turn it off early you have to press the button many times until you cycle through all the clean modes.

Unless you can do it by holding down the power button? I have not tried this. Any owners care to comment?

    • Hi lostn,

Each mode of the toothbrush has a different timer, for the first one (Normal Clean) is 2 minutes, it vibrates every 30 seconds to remind you to move to different quadrant and it will stop after 2 minutes.

      • I know. I have other Sonicares that do that.

My concern was if I wanted to switch it off early.

After 2 minutes, sometimes I find that I've not completely brushed every part of my mouth evenly. Sometimes you spend too long on one area and some other area doesn't get enough time.. unless you extend the brush time. Which means activating another 2 minute cycle. But of course you don't want to spend a whole 2 more minutes on it, you'll cancel it when you've gone over the areas that need it.

When I tested that in a the shop I found I had to press it several times to turn it off, which sounds like bad design because Flexcare doesn't require this. It has a separate button for power and one for mode.

I was worried about this too.
But let me explain how it works.
When you press the button once it will start in Normal mode. If you keep pressing the button it will go through other modes. And after 5th press it will go into off.
But if you leave it in any mode for number of seconds (10 or 15 from my impression) the next press of the button will go straight into off.

And yes, it will switch automatically off after 2 minutes (or whatever the length of the program).

I would prefer the second dedicated on/off button.
But this single button workflow is not that bad (better than I was expecting).

      • I see.

Whenever I tested it on a display unit, that was the annoyance I found. The flexcare has a separate button for cycling modes, so pressing power just switches it off. Strange that the flagship model doesn't have this.

  • Philips $50 cashback promo just started today too!

    • Can I hate you lol.

How can I change the receipt date.

      • Lol. Just call them tomorrow. Id be surprised if they didnt honour it. Ive found Philips customer service to be pretty good.
Worse case scenario, you can always do a money back guarantee (not sure if its 28 or 60 days)

      • Did you call them?
On the same boat :( purchased 4/11/16

        • Called and checked with Philips.
Said they would honour it. Really impressed with their customer service and the brush is amazing :)

  • The Harvey Norman price jumped up to $319 for the Black model however they were willing to lower the price to $295 on Live Chat (but not match the $289 at The Shaver Shop http://www.shavershop.com.au/online-store/oral-care/electric…).

Still eligible for the HN $30 Gift Card and Philips $50 Cashback.

I added a $8 USB to make it $303 for the $100 Amex rebate.

    • Never mind, got white from Amazon
