    That's the second time they offer that deal, very good price but the shipping costs kills it ($18 for me). I asked them to provide cheaper postage, they said that it includes insurance and they would not lower it. I can buy the same drive for almost the same cost (with shipping) in a store here.

    $18 postage for me kills the deal, plus Hitachi have been known to be a bit fussy on the warranty side of things. Good deal if it's not a 4 platter drive though.

    Keep in mind this is the 7K1000.B, which is an older 3 platter 1tb drive as opposed to the newer 7k1000.C which is a 2platter. If you take shipping into effect you can get 2 of the newer drive from PCCG for $11 more, and they are not the cheapest around.

    I'd rather pay an extra $14 and get from a local store the Samsung F3. Its the fastest consumer grade 7200rpm drive around. and samsung has a no questions asked warranty.

      $2 extra on that gets you the samsung F3 which is a better drive.
