Apparently I've set the world record for bandwidth usage on Xbox One... What's your bandwidth usage look like?

So I'm curious to see what people's bandwidth usage looks like after I checked mine for the first time today only to see some seriously WTF level usage. See below:

You can see some months have pretty heavy usage compared to others, and I'm guessing that's just due to downloading games and updates. But apparently I used a whopping 141.93 TB in the month of August/September. How is that even possible? Surely it's an error of some kind? I don't think it's literally possible for me to download that much. My connection is about 25mbps tops, but usually half that. I don't use Netflix or any other streaming apps on my Xbox; I only play single player with some occasional multiplayer games. I have a mix of both physical and digital games too, so it's not like I'm buying and downloading a tonne of digital games.

I'm currently downloading the 77gb of Quantum Break episodes, hence the heavy usage all day, but usually I'm not really downloading anything.

You can check your bandwidth usage by going into network settings.

    You related?

    • That's why my business reports weren't uploading that day. This guy was hogging all the bandwidth.

      • Changed from Telstra to Kogan around a month ago, will definitely recommend! :)

This is why I can't buy an Xbox One

You'd need a 500Mbit connection going full tilt 24/7 for a month to rack up 140TB

    mostly porn?

    • That explains it. My internet usage went up when watching too much as well. Better to just have a better imagination.

Who needs imagination when you have VR ?

        • +2

Personally, I prefer R over VR.
It is old fashioned, but has benefits.

142TB is completely wrong. Assuming 31 days in a month, that's 4.58TB per day, 190GB per hour, 3.18GB per minute, 53.02MB/s, or 424Mbps…

Maybe the entire town's internet is going through his server…

He could be the bottleneck for everyone around.

  • LMAO hahahaha man I thought I used a lot of date on my X1, but daaaaaaammm bro. 141TB?????? HAHAHA.

The Xbox One is a major bandwidth hog, but yea there's something glitched there.

Just use paper man cheaper and easier we got people in hospitals that could eat that data

I am on a 500GB/month internet plan for many many years, but since I got Xbox 1 a few months ago, I have to upgrade my plan to unlimited !!

  • What is it doing to consume an average of 5-6GB per hour?

    • As I said at the bottom of my original post, I was downloading 77gb of Quantum Break episodes when I took that picture, hence the heavy usage all day. That was yesterday only. Other days, I'm not downloading anything.

  • yeah im guessing for some reason that TB should be GB haha though yeah my xbox averages easily 200GB per month; mostly because i buy most of my games digital.
