      unless they've rebalanced it in the previous few years, it was quite possible to complete the game without a single in-app purchase. It'd be very sad if they have skewed the gameplay towards requiring in app purchases.

      Quite possibly, but they are in the form of completely optional heroes. Totally not required to win the game.
      Once every few days you may get an advert telling you about sales on heroes, but that's it.

      Seriously, this (and the others by the same developer) are the best TD games I've played on my phone (and I've tried a lot). Wholeheartedly recommend.

        The best was on Warcraft 3, I can see this game borrowed all the ideas from it and expand it including the use of heroes with abilities. Just like Dota map was born with War3, then came League of legends and seperate Dota games

          Yeah well with the way things are going I am hoping for a whole full Warcraft 3 customer maps revival in the form of separate standalone games such as this one the red solstice and reborn and hopefully many others.

          Warcraft 3 got it right and it's modding community was imho one of the greatest if not still.

          Legends were born from that game and are still continuing to do so.

          Can't also with for the next generation or take on the RTS genre another Warcraft 3 or StarCraft 2 but with newer more interesting mechanics and graphics man we can only go so far.

          Still a lot left untouched imho for a fully fledged RTS genre.

          Just combine the best of the best but maybe dial it down on the over saturation of content and we are good haha lol

      No need to purchase stuff unless you want new hero. Which is not needed to finish the game.
      I agree they are the best tower defense game I have played so far.

    Bought it. I remember playing the earlier games on Kongregate. Still a solid game. Thanks OP!

    What upgrade paths do you think are best? I'm thinking of just maxing out the archers.

      You mean in stage Play or special lvl bonuses?
      Depends on what stage you're playing as enemies have weaknesses. You can reset which is brilliant.

    I bought this at a normal price, would buy it again. Both Kingdom Rush games are awesome.
    IAP not required to beat it.
