Cheapoair - Charges in AUD Online but CreditCard Billed USD

Ozbargainers!

Has anyone purchased through the website and noticed that it shows billing in AUD, but when i saw my ANZ CCard it shows charged in USD>AUD?

Is this normal or a billing error with CheapoAir?>?

In total i have paid extra $30 in feees/conversion going with them when i thaught it was cheap now has gone more expensive then other online flight websites :\

      the website is charging in AUD.

      The charge you are seeing is coming from your bank for processing an international transaction.
      this is a new thing as recently as august this year.
      basically they want a slice of the pie.

    Paid in AU but got charged $30 fee

    • the fee is from your bank for handing an overseas transaction.
      the website appropriately charged in AUD.

      The bank is charging you an overseas transaction fee.

  • So I was just about to book with cheeapoair, and I assume the above still stands, but for my future reference how do I know if it's going to charge from an overseas place or an aus bank if it's showing in aud?

  • will using citibank debit avoid these fees?
