[Unobtainable Deal] $25 off $150 (USD) Purchases When Using Your AmEx Card @ Amazon

Moved to Forum: Original Link

It's currently working if you chat with them and ask for it to be applied manually

Source https://www.doctorofcredit.com/use-amex-get-25-off-150-amazo…

Many people are noticing an offer showing on Amazon to get $25 off a purchase of $150 when paying with an Amex card. Even non-Prime members see this offer.

It shows under items shipped and sold by Amazon – not FBA items (sample link), with the exception of Amazon gift cards and third-party gift cards (sample link).

When trying to use the offer by paying $150+ with an Amex card, it doesn’t actually work. The ‘See Details’ link is not working to give more info on the promo. Right now it’s only working by chatting and requesting the a manual $25 refund (YMMV, of course).

    ok

    TRUMP!!

  • You might be able get lucky on chat, but one of the conditions is

Offer applies only to the purchase of at least $50 of eligible products, where Membership Rewards points are used for at least a portion of the purchase and the promotion code is entered at checkout.

Australian AMEX can't use MR to pay for purchases so we wouldn't be eligible

looking at the deal, seems to be confirmed, however no information on when its going to start and end.

Pay with AMEX, get $25 of $150. See details

When you click on details, nothing is showing

Wish they had free shipping again, that shit was epic.

    • Yes it was.

The thing that bummed me out is that there was no expiry date for that offer. They would withdraw it at their own discretion. I had no idea when they'd pull it, so I assumed we had plenty of time. I didn't hurry to buy stuff I wanted with expensive shipping. When I finally pulled the trigger it was over already. :/

Just got $25 credit applied to my amazon account by chatting to them. Told them promo not working on my account

    • Credit isn't a discount…
      That's not "$25 off $150+ Spend", that's "Bonus $25 Credit on $150+ Spend".

      Not same.

      • -5

        Not same.

Explained to them AMEX deal showing on my account when adding a 500GB SSD but the discount not applying.

Then were happy to manually add $25 credit as a goodwill credit so i can buy the item with the $25 discount.

Now please go entertain someone else with your comments

        • If the offer was working correctly, it would have been a voucher that would be a discount towards the next purchase. $25 off $150 spend would imply that the $25 would be deducted immediately, with you paying $125, instead of that $25 going towards a future purchase.

You only got your $25 discount because you spoke to them about the offer not working as intended. If it was, you wouldn't be getting the discount off this purchase.

          So he has a point.

  • Just had a chat with amazon. Products purchased must be sold by Amazon.com, total amount $150 not including shipping and the amount charged to your credit card will be -$25.

    • the problem is its not applying, probably a technical glitch

Chat to them and get amazon to credit you with the $25 manually

      • That's $150 USD. Not to be confused with $150 AUD if looking at the Amazon currency converter.

Maybe some people are confusing it for $150 AUD and then complaining when the discount is not being applied. Of course it has to be $150 USD.

Waiting for PDT to be crowned & USD to level with AUD again. Black Friday sale coming soon, things happen for reason!

    • No it's gone down in anticipation of t.

    • That won't happen until January.

  • Just tried my luck with the chat function. The rep said he would forward my request to another department. No instant credit there for me unfortunately :(

    • And are you applying a minimum of $150 USD to the cart and that's before shipping?. If you've got the Amazon currency converter enabled then i suggest disabling it temporarily in case you might be confusing it for $AUD. So remember that Amazon USA operates in $USD.

    • i tried chatting on another Amazon account and they said they will apply $25 credit when the item is shipped.

      SO keep trying

    • just got another applied to my other amazon account

Krishan: Yes can you please help me with the link of the offer on Amazon?
Me: this is what i see
      https://postimg.org/image/e67z7he1z/
Krishan: I see that offer is not on our Amazon website
      Me: it is
      its a snap shot
      from amazon website
Krishan: May I know how much is the Promo offered?
Me: $25 off $150 if you pay with AMEX
Krishan: To help you in this case, Promotional certificate has been issued. Amount: $25.00
      Me: Thank you
      is that on my account
Krishan: You're welcome. Yes it will be added to your Promo Balance.
I hope I was able to assist you up-to your satisfaction.
      Me: yes
      thank you so much

  • I tried,
and the chat operator said that it's not applicable (that its from another website?).
I also wasn't eligible for a different 20 off 50 spend deal either.

Hmm, if I use my ANZ Amex a lot of the benefit will be lost on the 3% foreign currency transaction fee and the crappy exchange rate.

I guess you'd still be ahead, just not as much as with a no-fee card.

  • Sounds dodgy that you can only link the CSR to a snapshot of the offer instead of the actual Amazon URL. If I was the one you were chatting with, I'd ask for a direct URL to where you saw the offer. If it doesn't exist, the offer must have been withdrawn, or was never meant to get leaked.

  • tried to click & check all the provided links
can't find any deal mention of this $25 off $150 if paying by Amex..
