I was looking for a clumsy-proof hair styler and came across this InStyler Tulip Hair Curler. Online videos and reviews seem to suggest that I can use it so I happily gave my CC details to the Shaver shop and am now waiting for my (hopefully) awesome curler.

Based on the RRP of $149.95, this seems to be a good deal as there is also a bonus ionic InStyler Salon Styler Pro valued at $139.95. The Salon Styler Pro doubles up as a hair straightener and an ionic hairbrush. That means you pay $39.95 for a total RRP of $289.90.

My ionic hairbrush from a different brand (please don't ask why I bought it) seems to have a really good placebo effect. Youtube videos show that these brushes have real effects though.

Anyway, if you are looking for a hair styler (like me) or a Christmas gift for your other half, this is an option.

If you don't use the cashrewards extension in Google Chrome, don't forget Cashrewards :-)

        So it turns out that the tulip hair styler is quite easy to use. I didn't give up when I tried it for the first time.

        The curls in my hair stayed for a few hours without using hair spray. I quite like my hair looking smooth and shiny after using the styler.

        I actually love the freebie more as it is SO easy to use and the result is great. It took me less than 5 mins to style my hair from straight to slightly curl.

    I am looking to buy one of these curlers for my friend. But i have no idea about which ones to buy. My budget is around $100. I saw some other curlers too at the store online. Phillips, VS sasson etc. The question is, are these any better than the one you posted (ionic), or are they the same and there is no point paying more for them ?

      Hi XedeX, looks like my post was a bit confusing so I updated it. The curler itself is not ionic. Only the Salon Styler Pro has an ionic hair brushing function.

      Sorry I don't know which one works better. The VS Sassoon Curl Secret looks nice and has good review too. I went with the Instyler because it works, is on sale and has a bonus hair straightener :-)

      No, I didn't receive it neither. So I called the store that processed the sale and they told me to drop by their store to collect the freebie. I placed 2 separate orders (one for my mum) and none of them arrived with the freebie.

          I'm in Canberra. One of my orders was processed by the Belconnen store but when I called the Woden store, they were happy to hand the freebie to me. I called the generic number (1300 Shaver) then were transferred to the nearest store based on my postcode.

          When they shipped the product, they sent me an email telling me which store I should contact if there is any problem. Maybe have a look at that email and see which store processed your order?
