  • So wait, you can record in 720P HD? How long can you record, in terms of battery life and before you run out of space?

Had a bit of a check and found a review

For $99 I suppose it's not a bad price point. It seems when you record in 720P though you can only record 30FPS as opposed to 60fps in lower res.

  • I think this one is a much better buy at $132 - http://www.catchoftheday.com.au/smallfish_info.php?products_…

Worth the extra $33 for 1080p and image stabilisation

    • Image stabilisation is very important in taking videos.
I thought every camcorder had it built-in…

"I think this one is a much better buy at $132"->actually that JVC is even better @$112 with the coupon!

"Not the best pocket video camera in the world but well worth $99."
Hell, it is NOT worth that much, I've seen one, it's the size of an ipod touch but 4 times as thick.
    No optical zoom either.
It's like a webcam on batteries..
    Suit yourself =]

    • I have one….keep it in my pocket…
does have a (small) optical zoom, but not particularly effective.

      I think it's great….very handy. The video is good…the pics aren't really….
Takes aa batteries, so easy to replace if on the run….quite rugged, I suspect you could drop it once or twice and have no probs

worth $99?….yep, I would say so, on any other day……However….with the JVC at $112….I would probably go that one, personally….or the Samsung at $118

      • I liked the idea of being able to change batteries with the zx1 (unfortunately when you do this you lose the time/date setting!). As reviewers say, the UI is quite odd but you get used to it. It's also semi waterproof.

        Disclaimer: I have a zx1

      • actually…..I am mistaken….it is digital zoom…….
however, as i said before….not really that useful…..moving nearer is more effective.

These cameras won't win you any oscars, but for taking short, spontaneous footage of the kids, etc they perform very well.
